Back from the Carnival Elation Extended Issac Cruise

Just got back home from our extended cruise. Can't say enough good things about the way the crew and Captain handled our experience. I was so impressed that even tho they said in their letter they would not be adding additional tips, I went down to Guest Services and added extra tips for the extra days. They kept us very well informed on what was going on. First we were going to port in Mobile, then for some reason I guess they found out NOLA would be opening soon so we ended up there Friday around 2:45.

Can't speak for everyone but once the announcement was made the ship was clear we (Platinum) were escorted from the Romeo & Juliet lounge down to deck 7 and were off the ship and through customs in about 10 minutes. Probably would have been sooner, but the escalator was temporarily broke so we had to drag our luggage down the stairs. Crew on the Elation was smart, the crew was stationed at the doors and in the hallways preventing acess to Empress Lobby to keep people gathering there to disembark.

We drove so we did not have flight issues to reschedule, but from the majority of folks I spoke with that did, they were very complimentary of all the help Carnival was providing in opening the phone lines and assisting in flight changes.

I know there have been complaints about the quality of food/service going down, but that was not my experience on the Elation. Food was served on time, hot and I enjoyed every meal I had. Even the buffet food (which I rarely ever eat) was hot and tasted good. Our waitstaff did an excellent job of keeping the courses moving all the time with a smile on their faces.

All I can say is Good Job to the Crew of the Carnival Elation. Can't wait to get back on her soon.

That's great to hear! My friend & I are embarking on Sept 22nd, for the 5-night cruise, and I'm SO glad to hear the service and capability of the staff were good ! I am sure the food was much better than any HOTEL food, and can't wait to try it!

Congrats on the safe landing and good cruise!

OP, glad you are safely back on dry land. I am sure floating aorund waiting to know where you would disembark had to be a bit annoying.

Carnival did a decent job of letting those on shore know about the change of plans for the end of your cruise.

As for food, it is definitely hit or miss, I had fantastic service one crise and someone sitting at a different station during same dining hour same dining room had a terrible experience.

My husband and I were also on this cruise. We had a wonderful time. I agree with all you posted. Carnival could not have been better. The food was wonderful, as usual.

Never thought of going to guest services, but we did give the dining staff and room staff extra money.
