Anyone been in Nassau on a Sunday?

I have only been to Nassau once before, and that was on a Saturday. The streets were packed with busy shoppers and tourists. We had a great day there.

This trip, we will only be in port for about 5 hours (on a Sunday). Has anyone else been in port on Sunday? Are all the shops still open? There's one jewelry store in particular that I'd like to go to if they are open. If shops don't open til noon (or whatever), I'll save that as my last stop before reboarding the ship.

Not very lively on Sunday's. The locals are very religous and most places are closed.

[B]Have been there on Sundays. A couple of shops opened at 11 AM and closed by 1 PM. A couple opened at noon and closed by 2.

[B][SIZE=3][COLOR=DarkOrange]It's been several years since we were there, but I think everything's closed on Sundays. We have been there on Palm Sunday and they did a march through the streets with palm branches. Been there on Easter Sunday, too, and everything was closed.[/COLOR][/SIZE][/B]

Most of the tourist stores [U]do[/U] open on Sundays. (Perhaps not on a holiday Sunday.) Hours are shorter. Straw Market also opens after church but fewer vendors.

Morning hours only. I had seen something I wanted to buy, but thought I would look around. When I went back at 2:00, they were colses. Oh well, didn't really need it.

How about the day passes at the Sheraton/Westin? I am guessing that is doesn't really matter if it is a weekday or weekend...

We will be there in April on a Sunday, and thought about going to the Sheraton/Westin to relax on the beach...
