B2B Question

Doing my first B2B next month and, unfortunately, had to book separate cabins for the two cruises. I have read that the cabin steward will help move our luggage to our second room, and I know we will meet at a designated time to get new sail and sign cards and get escorted off and back on the ship.

My question is once we are allowed back onboard will we have access to our new cabin right away, or will we have to wait until 1:30 when all cabins are ready?

Thanks!

I had two different cabins twice.. and no cabin steward help.. and the 2nd time I even asked who I thought was my cabin steward.. unfortunately he was one of those who cleans your cabins when you arent around and never comes by to introduce himself, so never really sure I asked the right guy.

The last day came.. and I said ok, no help, can I at least get a cart to move the stuff, no we need all the carts now to do the cabins. No help whatsoever.

I read the same BS you read.. but twice I couldnt get any help moving cabins.

I just moved my stuff before we meet at the designated time.. and went and introduced myself to the new cabin steward who luckily was a lot nicer than the first one. Told him I put my stuff in my cabin and that I was a B2Ber.. find, np he said.. closed the door, but didnt lock it. Put my stuff out of sight from the door being opened as a precaution, but it worked out fine both times.

I moved before we were escorted on and off both times.

I know once I have the new key I can get to the cabin, by the middle door which is unlocked for those doing the luggage, and go and lock it after I get the new key.

I had to switch once on a B2B had cabins on the same deck, but one was all the way forward and the other was all the way aft. My first room steward told me the last night of the first leg, that he would get with the other room steward and move me to my new cabin. I told him I could do it myself, but he insisted it was his job.

So the next morning before I left to meet with the other B2Bers, they had a garment rack and moved all my stuff for me. The second room steward cleaned my room first, so while I didnt have a key yet, the room was ready for me when I got my key.

I did a back to backer, what I did, before the last day, I notified my room steward I wouldn't be putting my bags outside last night cause I was stayin on but on a different stateroom. So he was aware, then I went over to the new cabin found that steward and introduced myself as i was stayin in that cabin the next day.

He understood, looked at a clipboard and saw my name on there to confirm, and he got with the current room steward and made sure my bags were moved..... And he also said he would do my room first, so I could come back early.... Sure enough, my new room was ready and bags were in my stateroom around 10am, cool. .

I leave on a B2B2B on Tuesday. I have same cabin for legs 2 and 3, but will move after first leg. I plan on moving my important stuff myself.

You don't need to pack hanging garments...they just take those and put on a rack, as previous poster stated.

But I think I will do the same thing. Go and introduce myself to my steward for legs 2 and 3.

I think different ports are different, we did a B2B in Long Beach, same cabin, but our friend changed cabins. He packed up his stuff and left it in our cabin. We all told our stewards what was going on. We were the last off the ship, but the shoreside folks were very confused as to how to handle us (it was only the 3 of us), so we ended up staying on shore for over an hour before they would let us back on the ship. So I guess, expect the unexpected.
