cruising cockroach Posted October 2, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2012 You won't find the number of seats left in a particular class but you can surmise/calculate it. Most will only give a maximum of 4, 7 or 9 seats per fare bucket. Depending on how many buckets are all 4/7/9 or if many are 0'd out, you'll know a flight is either pretty empty or full respectively. Rare FlyerTalker Posted October 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2012 Don't forget that the lower buckets are generally subsets of higher priced buckets - and that ALL of the coach buckets are subsets of "Y". Just read on Gary Leff's blog that UA has returned "Expert Mode" to their website, which should help out if you are looking for UA flights. It's a bit involved to get to it, but may be worth the effort. And, of course, this is showing available inventory for sale. Factoring in oversale algorithms, when you see, for example, Y5, you could very easily have a full aircraft as those are seats available for sale, not necessarily how many "empties" are left. It's a bit involved to get to it, but may be worth the effort. Now that UA has somewhat come to their senses, they have returned "expert mode" and you can set this up by going to your Mileage Plus profile and chosing "expert mode". This will allow you to see the tickets remaining in each fare bucket, at least up to 9.
