emelvee Posted October 30, 2012 #76 Share Posted October 30, 2012 I'd consider this if we weren't 5 hours away, and if I didn't have to take a day off of work.
SNJCruisers Posted October 30, 2012 #77 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Had no idea they were doing a formal night (kinda sucks that I have to pack extra set of clothes) but I guess that gives them a chance to make money off of photos. You don't have to pack an extra set of formal clothes....it's elegant night, not formal night anymore. Dockers and a collared shirt for him and a dressy pair of black slacks and a nice blouse and the two of you are good to go. Unless of course you want to upgrade from a small roll on to a full blown suitcase just to get all gussied up.
laumicmah Posted October 30, 2012 #78 Share Posted October 30, 2012 I booked by calling CCL and they could only find a couple 3 pax insides left...1 on deck 6 and the rest on riviera. We actually had to take a 4 pax for our 3 kids because it was the only choice that was next to a 2 pax (for DH and I). There aren't too many insides left. Don't think there are many OVs either. Maybe the TAs took blocks of cabins. That makes sense because I had tons of option pulled up OL this morning. Though, maybe folks did like we did and waited to be sure their roof hadn't blown off or something. On a side note, I found myself a REALLY good new PVP. Love her. She was super helpful and spent a ton of time helping me (even put a hold on 2 cabins for our friends...not a long hold, but it still helped). She even double checked my kids DOBs and genders (other PVPs always put my DD...with a unisex name...as a male).
SNJCruisers Posted October 30, 2012 #79 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Since the hot tub usage will be at a premium on this sailing, remember that there is another one inside the spa/gym area that some people might not know about.
Anung Un Rama Posted October 30, 2012 #80 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Hoping not to start up a big debate, but I need to find out where the smoking areas are on this ship. I don't smoke, but she does, and we are in an inside room. I would just like to be able to give her a heads up. Thanks in advance.:) We plan on getting there early too. I totally forgot about not having to wait for people debarking. I also wasn't expecting a formal night, so that's kind of cool. She always grills me on my cruises and I am so excited to be able to show her as much as possible. Really hoping it goes well, then maybe I can get her on a longer one!!:p Not too many on this ship. One side of the Lido deck is smoking, the other is not. Some tables and machines in the casino allow smoking. And the Starry Night's Lounge (which does karaoke). It'll be interesting to see how far we get out of the bay before they just turn around and start coming back. This will be a new experience for a lot of us :D You don't have to pack an extra set of formal clothes....it's elegant night, not formal night anymore. Dockers and a collared shirt for him and a dressy pair of black slacks and a nice blouse and the two of you are good to go. Unless of course you want to upgrade from a small roll on to a full blown suitcase just to get all gussied up. Unfortunately, that is an extra set of clothes because this was going to be a nice relaxing 2 dayer. I wasn't planning on bringing a long sleeve button down or black slacks. Oh well, my fiancee always likes getting me all 'dolled up' :o
leaski Posted October 30, 2012 #81 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Thank you for the smoking info!! I just want her to be aware in advance. :) I am also wondering how far out we'll go. We've always wanted to do a CTN but have just never been able to fit it in. Plus we would have to drive a lot further, adding to the cost. This came at the perfect time, for the perfect price!!
