If you make final payment early and price drops, can you get adjustment?

Final payment on our upcoming Silhouette cruise is due 12/18/12. For reasons that aren't important to this question (having to do with wanting to get some bonus points on our credit card reward program), we are thinking of making final payment early. If we do so, and the price drops between the date we make payment and 12/18 (when final payment would be due), can we get a price adjustment?

The key date is the due date -- if you choose to pay early, you can still qualify for price drops up until the final payment due date -- so regardless of when you pay, you should still be able to get the lower price if it should go down.

Did you book thru a Travel Agent or Celebrity?

 

I'm sure you would be able to get credit for the difference up to final payment because you could cancel and get your entire deposit and cruise fare refunded before final payment without penalty.

 

I would pose this question to Celebrity or your TA just to make sure.

We booked through a TA. I can email the TA in the morning, but actually I feel that this board provides the most reliable answers!

Assuming Celebrity works the same as RCI, you can get a refund for a price drop after final payment as long as your final pmt. due date hasn't passed. We got one with no problem and we had booked through an online TA. A couple of other assumptions: 1) the price drop can't be for "new bookings only" and 2) your TA doesn't have any of its own price change restrictions.
