xxoocruiser Posted November 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2012 After our cruise on Allure, our flight on Southwest is not until Monday morning. Can you still use luggage valet if your flight is the next day after debarkation? No. Luggage valet is only offered for flights that are departing the day of disembarkation . Check your airlines regulations as to what their policy regarding how far in advance that luggage can be checked in as you might be able to go directly to the airline to pre-check your bags. However it's my understanding that since 911 most airlines no longer permit advance checking luggage beyound a few hours before the flight. kitty1 Posted November 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2012 The latest flight they will allow you to use the valet luggage service is 5:30pm. Our friends had a 5:45pm flight and were told it was 15 mins too late. We had a 4pm flight and did it. It was well worth the $20pp charge to do this. They printed off our boarding passes, airport luggage tags and valet tags and delivered them to our stateroom. We put our bags outside our room the last night and cruised right off the ship and through customs and didn't see our bags until the baggage claim at the airport at home. Another note: You can not depart the ship until 8am if you do the valet luggage. So if you want to depart early don't do this. And your flight has to be after 11:30am. You can depart the ship at any time you want after 8am. Don't think it was offered by all the airlines. Most of the major airlines did it, but not all of them. cruisefan0110 Posted November 21, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2012 We had a late afternoon flight from Fort Lauderdale and the checkin rules state you cannot checkin more than 4 hours before your flight. Please keep that in mind also.

Please keep that in mind also. There are no luggage check-in rules when you use the Luggage Valet Program. The only rules that apply when using LV are that your flight leave before a certain time and no later than a certain time. These times can vary by ship and departure port. kitty1 Posted November 22, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2012 We used it Sunday off Allure in Ft Lauderdale and we had a 4pm flight. They allowed you to use it if your flight was between 11:30am and 5:30pm. So we didn't have to worry about the 4 hour check in rule at the airport. Folks that did not use it had to cart their luggage around with them because the 4 hour check in rule applied.
