groovechick Posted November 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2012 You chan check this by looking in the How Can we help? section on the P&O website. Just type in "Captain?" in the search box and it will come up with details of the current captains and who will be replacing them on the next rotation. I believe Aurora's current captain is Neil Turnbull, who was in charge when we sailed on Aurora this August. He is a lovely man - very friendly, humorous and approachable. He creates a really nice, family atmosphere on ship, and the crew seem to hold him in very high regard too. His announcements had my kids in stitches and some of his sayings have gone down in family lore. I am really hoping he might be on Azura when we sail on her next year. Rare Host Sharon Posted November 22, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2012 It could well be Sarah Breton. I know Aurora is her ship when she is not on leave.
tom_uk Posted November 23, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2012 It could well be Sarah Breton. I know Aurora is her ship when she is not on leave. She was captain of Arcadia in mid-October, when we did our Canary Islands cruise on that ship.

Yes, Angelo Vago has captained Oceana for quite a while and has a great sense of humour and is generally well received by his passengers, including off the ship. Somerset Cruiser Posted December 20, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 20, 2013 P & O website now shows Neil Turnbull from 29 Nov. to 4 Jan. 2014 and Angelo Vago from 28 Dec. to 7 March 2014. We will be on Aurora from San Francisco. Does anyone know Captain Vago? A good Captain, has the passengers interests at heart. As I have previously told, on Oceana last New Year we were unable to get into Amsterdam because of high winds. Rumours on the ship suggested he hadn't ever intended going there and had lied about the course taken during the night. He strongly refuted these 'lies' and offered to meet anyone who wished to discuss the matter.
