Hello to everybody,

As I am new to Oceania could somebody give me the clarification:

Dining at Toscana and Polo Grill - is it for free or for extra charge?

How many times during 14 days cruise can we go to theses restaurants?

Thank you very much for the information!

There is no additional cost involved in eating in the Specialty Restaurants on Oceania.

The number of reservations that a passenger is "guaranteed" depends on the type of stateroom that is booked, and the ship that one is sailing on:

Regatta & Nautica-

Concierge and above staterooms and Suites are are allowed two dining reservations in each specialty restaurant. Guests in other stateroom categories are allowed one dining reservation in each specialty restaurant.

Marina & Riviera

Guests in Owners Suites, Vista Suites and Oceania Suites are are allowed two dining reservations in each specialty restaurant. Guests in all other stateroom categories are allowed one dining reservation in each specialty restaurant.

-Please note that Restaurant Reservations may be made Online, in advance of your cruise, by utilizing the "Already Booked" section of the Oceania Web Site:

  • Owner's and Vista Suites may make reservations 90 days to 15 days prior to embarkation.
  • Penthouse Suites may make reservations 75 days to 15 days prior to embarkation.
  • Concierge Level Veranda staterooms may make reservations 60 days to 15 days prior to embarkation.
  • Veranda, Ocean View and Inside Staterooms may make reservations 45 days to 15 days prior to embarkation
  • The online dining reservation system closes 7 days prior to your sailing's embarkation date.

Enjoy your cruise, and all of those marvelous meals!

They are free. You can usually get extra reservations on board. Ask at the front desk in the Terrace cafe in the morning. If you are flexible, you can get extras.

Is it reasonable to expect that on a TA if we are flexible with dining times and table size that we should be able to find seating in specialty restaurants without undo stress?

Looking at it actually even with only a balcony stateroom, we can make several advance reservations as our limit is one per restaurant and there are five restaurants. Is that right?

On the larger ships, there are four "specialty" restaurants in which you will be guaranteed reservations.

Those are Polo (a steak House), Tuscana (Italian), Red Ginger (Asian Fusion) and Jacques (French).

Privée is a private party room (rented by the evening for a fee) and La Reserve is a collaboration between Oceania Cruises and Wine Spectator magazine, which only serves it's meals with wine pairings. There is an additional fee involved in dining there and reservations are handled at the time of paying that fee.

As you say, making reservations are not difficult to arrange, but flexibility IS the key.
