Anyone recently on inspiration 3 day?

Hi All,

Am taking a last minute 3 day on the Inspiration & was wondering about a few changes CCL has made since I sailed in April.

Firstly, are they doing the brunch yet?

Also, do they have the mixologist contest?

Do you remember any of the menus? Hoping they still serve the creme brulee & the gran mariner souffle.

Did they have the mac & cheese at the lunch buffet - that stuff is to die for!

We were on the Inspiration in July and late August. There was no comedy brunch, which I assume is what you are referring to. I actually like it better without the brunch. That way the dining room opens for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As to other changes, they did serve the grand marnier souffle, excellent. They also have added the Taste Bar. We loved this, they served little bite sized samples of food that specialty restaurants on the other ships serve. The best part (and not well advertised) was that there is a full sized $5 drink that correlates to each night's offering. If you go to the casino bar which is near the Taste Bar on the Promenade deck you can just ask the bartender for the Taste Bar's drink. We loved them. Anything else, just ask. Although, April isn't too far back, so I think that's the only thing to have been added or changed.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, I was referring to the Comedy brunch.

Seems like since April they have done away with the farewell party as well as some other freebies such as free espresso in DR. Did you notice that they were charging for that? The taste bar sounds really good. It' located near the casino - where the sushi used to be?

We were on Inspiration on 11-16 to 11-18. They are charging for espresso and other "fancy" coffee drinks in the MDR now, but we used our free drink coupons for being a repeat guest to pay for them. The only rub here is that you can only use these coupons at breakfast and lunch in the MDR.

They did not have the comedy brunch. They did have the mac and cheese on the Lido buffet.

Just off the ship today. No Punchliners brunch but there is a MDR lunch on Sunday. You can use your free drink coupon then or for any mDR breakfast even on debarkation morning. If you don't eat lunch in MDR you can take it to another lounge and they will tell you where to use it.

No creme boule or bitter & blanc closest is creme caramel for MDR lunch.

No mixology but inspiration did have the taste bar.

Didn't see Mac & cheese up on lido but I think it was on MDR menu on Sunday.

The weather on the Pacific Coast has finally cooled down so, especially in the evenings it will be chilly out on deck. Did a last minute get-away in October and loved, loved, loved the taste bar. Don't recall if we had Creme Brulee (?) on the menu, sorry.

It truly was just a last minute escape and we did not even get off the ship in Ensenada. Just stayed on board and relaxed. Enjoy your Last Minute Get-Away.

Sorry, I don't remember when I saw the mac and cheese on the Lido. I did have it with dinner on Friday and Sunday in the MDR though.

Tea was at 3pm on Sunday and was very popular. People kept coming in long after it started and they ran out of seats for them. The staff was really good about accomodating these late comers.

The weather on sea day was cool and windy. My DD and I played mini golf on Sunday and the wind was blowing like crazy! Lots of people wore their jackets and some had scarves, gloves and hats.

Thanks. I assume they still have the tea? Do you know where it is served?

Rhapsody in Blue

They brought around a cart of sweets, then a few minutes later little sandwiches. I would have skipped the sweets if I'd known little sandwiches would be offered too. I had a bite or two of the lemon cake & apple tart but I didn't think were good at all.

Also with the Friday-Monday cruise, what time is the muster-drill on Friday. It seems like next week the ship will only sail at 5.30PM, with boarding time up till 4.30pm if I remember correctly. Dinner is at 6pm, so not much gap in between. Anyone know how they are handling this one on Inspiration currently?

It's listed in the Funtimes as 4:45. That's when everyone is called to their muster station. By the time it's over it's about 5:15.

Everyone was pretty much getting ready for first seating dinner by the time the ship set sail, and that was early. Sometimes I haven't seen it leave until 6:30 or 7:00.
