sparky-elpaso Posted November 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2012 What kinds of wildlife have you seen on your cruises? This little guy in Australia seemed as interested in us as we were in him. The Noisy Miner who came down to share our lunch at the zoo in Sydney. We saw lots of different birds in Australia. zackiedawg Posted November 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2012 You're speaking my language, as I'm primarily a bird and nature photographer at home. When I cruise, I try to incorporate some birding and wildlife photography too, but obviously you're limited to what you happen to see in the brief time in port, and are dependent on the weather gods to give you pristine conditions to shoot, or you just have to accept grey skies and not-as-good results. On my most recent cruise a few weeks ago, I captured the following... Bahama mockingbird: Bananaquit: Brown booby: Blue crab: Magnificent frigatebird: Red-lored parrots:
zackiedawg Posted November 29, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2012 As well as... Brown pelican: Fork-tailed flycatcher: Three-toed sloth: Grey capped flycatcher: And a palm tree full of dozens of orange-chinned parakeets:
zackiedawg Posted November 29, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Last year's cruise was very different - colder, and different animals...certainly not as many. I shot: A lot of snow geese: A very distant (and that's a GOOD distance for me, thank you!) black bear: A ring-billed gull: And jumping porpoises:
