TrqoisWtrs Posted December 21, 2012 #153 Share Posted December 21, 2012 Great review and pics! I recently discovered solo cruising and love it! But now that I've done a few, DH gets a bit upset if I mention I want to go again. (He is not a fan of cruising.) He doesn't like me going alone because he worries about me. Hope you don't mind me asking, but how does your husband deal with it? I get a lot of vacation time and would love to continue cruising, but obviously I can't feel good about booking, with DH feeling as he does. :(

And my I guess my dh realizes I am not really 'alone' - as you can see I was rarely on my own - made lots of great friends on board and stayed at a hotel where others were staying- all of this made me and him more comfortable! :)

seabrookcruiser Posted December 22, 2012 #162 Share Posted December 22, 2012 Hi Froufie, Just wanted to stop in and tell you how much I'm enjoying your review of the Carnival Breeze TA. Your pictures are fabulous, and your review is so entertaining. I can hardly wait for the next part. Keep it coming. I loved your pics of the excursion to Valdemossa you took while in Palma de Malloraca. I'm thinking I want to go there next time. Very interesting. Also, I agree with you at Alhambra, even with all the rain, the gardens there were just stunning. I can't even imagine how beautiful that it would be there on a sunny day. I would like to go back. Anyway, thanks for the wonderful review. It makes me wish we were back on the Breeze. How do you remember so many details about the cruise--I'm impressed! Sherrie:)

NCTribeFan Posted December 22, 2012 #165 Share Posted December 22, 2012 Hi Froufie! I was thinking about you when I got back from my B2B and hoping to see your review. Glad I saw this. Love the pics! Seems like you had a great time. Before I did the Hawaii cruise on HAL, I was really worried about all the sea days (we had 9!!). I thought I'd be bored to death, but I loved it. I don't "do" trivia and game sort of activities, but HAL has other things to do (like cooking demonstrations by the speciality restaurant chef) and computer classes. After just a couple of days at sea, I found myself settling into a routine. By the last day, I had decided I could live like that forever! :D You probably know I'm not into bigger, newer ships, but Breeze looks very nice. I'm currently booked on the 2nd leg of the Conquest repo (got one of the 3 1A cabins that are midship and are actually larger than regular insides), but am thinking about a B2B2B on Victory from Miami for 14 days instead (3 different itineraries). Then I realized I can sail solo on HAL's Nieuw Amsterdam (newest ship that looks very much like Spirit-class ships) for the same price as 14 days on Victory - Eastern/Western B2B sold as one cruise with TWO stops in HMC. That might make up for missing it this last time. :p I would very much love to do a TA, partly because I haven't been to Europe in nearly 20 years (and never visited Spain). Problem is the cost. I don't have enough miles for a flight. I just think I'd rather do a longer cruise than pay so much for airfare. But some day!!!!
bullieowner Posted December 22, 2012 #166 Share Posted December 22, 2012 Thank you for such a wonderful review so far. I am presenting my mom with the TA Sunshine at Christmas..hope she is ok with it. She is 80, very very active so I think we will have a fabulous time. This has me so excited reading this review. I will be doing the Breez in 2015 ....long ways but family reunion cruise

I too loved the sea days - and yes I could see 'living' like that for a while (and being spoiled day and night! :D) The TA itself is not that pricey and yes it's the two one-way flights which may be costly if you don't have miles. Many TA cruisers use 1800flyeurope.com which seems to have good consolidator pricing. I still thankfully have some miles to use up..... You must get to Spain/Europe - not to be missed! Wish we had more time to see more stuff! Glad you enjoying the review - as for the details - as I mentioned while everyone was in bed relaxing and getting their beauty sleep I was down in my cabin every night furiously making notes and writing down what I did, with whom, etc so I could write a fabulous review just for you! ;)
