A few questions on Crown

Not been on Crown before and thinking of a cruise on her in 2013.

We have been on Golden and Grand and loved them.

Please can I have your views on Crown and just a few questions:

Is the International Cafe as good? Coffee card the same as last year?

Am I correct in thinking that there is no covered pool area?

MUTS is in the other pool area compared to Golden & Grand ?

Skywalkers is on Crown (as it was years ago on Golden) ?

Elite evening cocktail room is where?

MDR meal times for the evening? Freedom/Any time?

Are pools heated? Is there an adults only pool?

Where are the outside smoking areas?

Thank you very much in advance.

Please can I have your views on Crown and just a few questions:

Is the International Cafe as good? Coffee card the same as last year? Yes and yes. The coffee card punches are good until used up, unlimited coffee only for your cruise.

Am I correct in thinking that there is no covered pool area? Yes. No covered pool area.

MUTS is in the other pool area compared to Golden & Grand ? MUTS is just outside the buffet, overlooking the pool that's covered on the Golden/Grand.

Skywalkers is on Crown (as it was years ago on Golden) ? Yes

Elite evening cocktail room is where? Skywalkers

MDR meal times for the evening? Freedom/Any time? Probably the same as most other Princess ships: 5:30pm / 6:00pm / 8:15:pm; yes, there's Anytime dining.

Are pools heated? Is there an adults only pool? Don't know. Never used the pool. The Terrace pool at the back of Lido deck is adults only.

Where are the outside smoking areas? On Promenade and Lido deck, I believe on the port side.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi There,

Crown is a step up from the orginal Grand class ships,

you have 500 more passengers but same public areas,

no covered pool,

IC is good sized and Vines is full size not like the Grand.

Skywalkers similar but not the shopping cart,

Overall a fine ship with a very nice crew.

yours Shogun

Please can I have your views on Crown and just a few questions:

Is the International Cafe as good? Yes & larger than the Grand/Golden/Star and has 3 scoops of gelato for $1.50

Coffee card the same as last year? Yes

Am I correct in thinking that there is no covered pool area?

MUTS is in the other pool area compared to Golden & Grand ? No covered pool & instead where MUTS is located with seating designed for MUTS unlike older ships where it was added

Skywalkers is on Crown (as it was years ago on Golden) ? Yes but not the elevated shopping cart handle design but attached directly to the ship

Elite evening cocktail room is where? It was in Skywalker's for our recent 12 day cruise but with 550 Elites & many Platinum for the 2nd 20 day cruise it was in Club Fusion

MDR meal times for the evening? 6:00 & 8:15

Freedom/Any time?

Are pools heated? Is there an adults only pool?

Where are the outside smoking areas? On Promenade deck outside it was on starboard side

Thank you very much in advance.

I answered the questions I had answers for based on our recent 32 days on the Crown and the ship & crew were great. They've added tile to the outdoor area forward of the HC buffet with nice wicker-style chairs & I found the new balcony furniture more comfortable probably since it's been broken in.

We've enjoyed our two cruises on the Crown Princess. I love the Adagio bar for an evening cocktail before dinner. (We always have second seating.) The other adults only pool is the one near the spa. When Princess first decided to add the extra deck of passenger cabins, I thought it would be too crowded. For the itineraries we've done on the Crown, crowding has not been a problem.
