Toulon shore excursions

Our cruise on the Royal Princess next August stops in Toulon, but there are not any shore excursions showing yet for that port. Has anyone done a cruise shore excursion from Toulon? Where did it go - did you like it? We'd like to see Aix en Provence. Thanks.

We did the half day tour to Aix. We thought it was a worthwhile trip. The architecture and the town squares were very photogenic. Here is a link to the pictures from the excursion.

Thanks - I think that would be perfect for us. Guess I just have to be patient and wait for the cruise line to post information about the tours.

We're on the Royal in September and have arranged for Catherine of provence tours to take us to Aix en Provence and Cassis. She gets great review both on trip advisor and Rick Steves.

You will love Catherine - we used her in October. The itinerary you are doing is the one I would recommend, walking tour of Aix, followed by a stop in Cassis and the boat ride out to the inlets...

Could you point me to where you read that Princess might cancel the Toulon Port. If that becomes the case, I won't waste my time searching for a tour.

How did you get in touch with Catherine. We are having a problem

We we on the Royal and decided to do Toulon as a relaxing DIY day since we had three big touring days in a row (Livorno, Civitavecchia and Naples) following it...we took the Princess shuttle boat into town (we do not dock in town) and there is a WONDERFUL outdoor market in the morning until 1 PM. DH and I then did the maritime museum and DD and family took the public bus to the beach and said the beach was absolutely lovely and a very short distance by bus.
