We have arranged to have a driver pick us up at our hotel in Newark to take us to Port Liberty. How much should we tip? We were quoted a rate of $45.

How long should the trip take to the port?

it should not take more than half hour to get from newark to the port. I would tip $5-$10 depending on how much work (getting suitcases in and out of trunk) the drive does.

15 - 20%, usually rounded up to the next dollar is a typical tip in the NY area. I'd probably tip no less than $7, and most likely $10 as long as the service is satisfactory. The $5 low end suggestion in the previous post is far too little in my opinion.
