Hotel with Shuttles

As is discussed quite frequently on this board, while there are a couple of hotels that have shuttles, there are far more hotels where the taxi ride is less than $15 airport to hotel, and far less than $15 hotel to ship. As Princess typically uses Terminal 4 (2?- the closest pier to 17th St, where many hotels are), you could easily get a taxi for less than $10.

Happy to try to answer your question.

Very few offer a free shuttle to the pier most charge something in the range of $6 to $8 pp. We generally take a cab to the pier and depending upon traffic at the security gate a fare from a 17th Ave hotel can run $8 to $15. The Hyatt Place off 17th does have a free shuttle from FLL and there may be others that I am not aware of. We often stay at the Renaissance and it is about $20 with tip from FLL.

Hotels with shuttles to them from the airport will be close to the airport. Nothing to do in the area. As stated, you are better off staying closer to the port to enjoy the downtown/beach area and use cabs. Leave "Free shuttles" out of the equasion and you will expand your choices by a ton!;)

Thank you all for your help. Since it is only a one night stay, we aren't doing a car rental, so I'm taking your advice and just going with a hotel close to the beach / port and will go the taxi route.

Much thanks, Anne

So with 2 people, a cab is about as cheap and more convenient.

The Hampton Inn Ft. Lauderdale North provides cost of shuttle from airport and to cruiseport. We stayed there last year and have booked it again for our precruise stay this year.

Their shuttle van is easy to spot- van is covered with pink flamingos! We were very happy with their service. Buffet Breakfast is also included in the price. There's a plaza across the street for those last minute purchases.

I made the booking on an online hotel site (not sure if I can mention name), which provided a better price than the Hampton site.

Hope this helps.
