Must Do on Silhouette

The best is follow your own nose.

From past experience we chased after others favorites and found most to be a waste of our time, but good for a few laughs as we would look at each other and laugh asking this was it? Also found that while doing that we missed out on something else.

Seriously everything will be posted in the daily paper. I could tell you that bingo, shopping seminars, spa seminars, art auctions, and shop raffles are a waste of time but that is only after I have done them many times and they don't appeal to me any more.

Just do your own thing and explore the whole ship, and have fun. :)

We'll be cruising on the Silhouette March 3. Would like to know what's on everybody's "Must do" or "Don't miss" list as far as the ship goes......shows? Restaurants? Activities?

Thanks!

Here's some snippets from our experience:

The crew is fabulous on this ship. Visit the martini bar for a flight of sample martinis as it is a show unto itself.

If you're card players, sign up for the crew vs passenger poker tournament at the casino (I won a bottle of wine for 2nd place) you get to know the crew and you will get VIP status at the casino (lots of free drinks came our way and it was a complimentary tournament - no money no fees all for fun!)

Take the galley tour - it is interesting to see that operation and the Q&A with Chef is very interesting.

CD is amazing on this ship and full of energy - he sang with the pool band quite a bit on our sailing - lots of fun, dancing in the main atrium in the evenings.

The "cool cats bar"(our name for it)- the jazz bar by Muranos is a must do prior to late seating or after early seating - the jazz band is fabulous and hopefully "mr bean" is still bartending.

We love the lawn on the S class ships, whether it's just spreading a towel out and sunning or reading, or playing bocce ball. It's a lovely space and so peaceful compared to other spots on the ship. We also try to go to as many lectures as we can. We've never been to one that we haven't enjoyed, even the ones we thought we wouldn't be interested in, like the Caribbean music series we listened to on the Equinox (one of the Smithsonian ones). Every ship has a different topic for lectures so be sure to check your daily to see what's offered when you're on board.

The lawn club grill is a great experience, i also recommend cafe al bacio for a lovely place to sit and people watch, soak up the ambience, and enjoy lovely cookies and tea!

The galley tour is great fun. We also very much enjoyed a reidel wine workshop, teaching us about different wines and glasses, not very highly advertised but very surprisingly enjoyable.

The spa - have a nice treatment.

The big show with the acrobats etc, its fabulous.

The FOOD. ALL OF IT!!!! The BRUNCH BUFFET!!!! OH YES!!!:D

Bistro on five on embarkation day for lunch, very relaxing and no crowds. We love the adult only solarium for just chilling out after a day sight seeing, it's lovely to have a quiet swim then relax and read a book for a while. Cafe al Bacio for a coffee and tasty pastries, Tuscan Grille for a fabulous meal in the evening. Enjoy.

Thanks all! That was great. I normally just go and figure it out when I get there, but we've recently cruised Allure and Oasis and with those ships there is just SO MUCH going on that you can't possibly do it all and there is a bit of pressure to pre-plan to a degree and also listen to what others have done and see what appeals to you.

Now I feel like this will be in line with what our usual experiences are and we'll explore away. We have reservations at the Lawn Club and I'm really looking forward to that one. We have Qsine and Tuscan Grill and Murano booked too. After reading responses to this thread, I'll be sure to check out El Bacio and the Martini Bar for some samplers. We don't normally do Jazz but I think it's time to branch out a bit so that could be on the agenda as well. I'm also now going to look for and consider the lectures. Just never dawned on me to attend something like that on a cruise.

Go to the Molecular Bar at least once...it's operates at a slow relaxed pace and the cocktails are made with unique ingredients and methods. It is usually only open during the cocktail hours. We didn't go everyday but is a nice experience that is different from the regular cocktail hour bars.:)

We love hanging at the Sunset Bar aft and part of the lawn club on all the S class ships. Nice comfy chairs, sun or shade, gorgeous rest rooms right there and bocce, and, last but not least, a very handy cocktail can be had.:D

On your cruise, when was the Reidel Workshop? When did you sign up for it?
