Thought of trying it, have eaten all kinds of shrimp, lobster, crabbs, and fish, but not a fan of oysters!! Is it like all slimmy??? or more of a meaty kind of thing??? Soooo want to try them, but kinda scared to!!! lol
JawjaFatBoy Posted July 23, 2013 #27 Share Posted July 23, 2013 For breakfast I love the corned beef hash with grits and scrambled eggs. Delish! For dinner, smoked duck appetizer, spicy alligator fritters, Chateaubriand (best MDR dish to me!), prime rib, bitter and blanc, creme brulee, Grand Marnier souffle. Soooo want to try them, but kinda scared to!!! lol Escargots are not slimmy. They usually are chewy and the taste will be whatever sauce--usually a garlic butter sauce--in which they are cooked. To me, oysters on the half shell are slimmy. Escargots are not like that at all. I don't care for oysters on the half shell, either, but I love fried oysters! DebBrown Posted August 1, 2013 #31 Share Posted August 1, 2013 Would someone please tell me what Bitter and Blanc is? It's a vanilla and chocolate bread pudding with an amazing sweet sauce poured over the top. I hate break pudding but tried this once and now I am hooked! Right up there with the WCMC. I love all the hot soups, escargot, filet, ribs....the list goes on and on!! 28 more day until I get to do it again!

elizabet Posted August 13, 2013 #36 Share Posted August 13, 2013 They did a nigri style tempura prawn sushi thing as one of the "did ya?" courses on our last trip. Also, I remember a cold avocado soup. Both were good.
pampaul Posted August 14, 2013 #37 Share Posted August 14, 2013 I remember a lasagna bolognese in the MDR. I couldn't decided between that and something else. But since you could get the lasagna as a starter, I decided to try it out and then order my other choice for dinner. Should have totally ordered the lasagna for dinner (and maybe two) ;) It was so good. And you can't go wrong with warm chocolate melting cake. kroberts0525 Posted August 17, 2013 #38 Share Posted August 17, 2013 I would describe escargot as having the consistency of a sautéed mushroom. Flavor wise it takes on the flavor of the sauce...usually butter and garlic. Sooo delish.

djcass4199 Posted September 14, 2013 #42 Share Posted September 14, 2013 All of the chilled soups! The cheesecake, surf and turf, escargot, and any of the steaks from the Steakhouse. Tiramisu in the MDR. Stuffed mushrooms. Escargot. There are very few things foodwise on Carnival cruises that I'm not a fan of.

Lanced Posted December 13, 2016 #50 Share Posted December 13, 2016 Is my understanding correct that they no longer serve lobster tails as a regular menu item, but one you have to pay extra for? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
