Dancing Over The7 Seas Posted January 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2013 We have read different reviews on what is exceptable to wear around town during the day? Anyone know what to wear in Feburary in Buenos Aires for man and Woman? Thanks
Rare uktog Posted January 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2013 Our experience of BA - it is no different than any other port in that if you are going to a church you want to have something to cover your shoulders. We did not have any issue with DH wearing shorts though others reported they were not allowed into a church without long trousers - I think the main churches are more tolerant than the smaller ones
Hapytocruise Posted January 29, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2013 We were there last Feb and wore jeans and carried a jacket. It was cool in the morning and got warmer as the day went on. If you do plan on going into churches I would suggest not wearing shorts.
Denny01 Posted January 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2013 Two things to keep in mind: BA is a big city; it is summer there in Feb. we were there in Jan. it was warn but comfortable. People dressed much better than a Carribean port - you will be in the thriving business and nice shopping areas. Wear what you wish but wearing shorts and T's will insure you stsnd out. Wearing pants isn't for just church tours - you and a few other tourists and the local kids will be wearing shorts. Jeans are very popular, as are other more laid back outfits, but it is a major city w well dressed populace. Den
Rare cruisestitch Posted January 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2013 The number one thing to remember is not to wear ANY jewelry, including any watch you don't care to have taken from you. The pickpockets are good. They are fast. And they have been known to knock people down and grab purses, bags, cameras, etc. This is also a city where kids drive by intersections on motor scooters and grab purses right off pedestrians' shoulders. Treat it like you would any metro area -- guard your valuables well and don't take much extra out of the hotel when you leave to walk around and sightsee.
