girlsjustwannacruise Posted February 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2013 So, this will only be our third cruise, but that being said, we spent lots of money in the casino on both cruises. my hubby even won a poker tourny and gave back the $700 winnings (which i didnt care, it was a good time and was money not planned for anyway). But why dont we ever get offers from the casino like others as i have read on here? Do you have to be a certain sttus first? Any help would be appreciated, if you know of any available perks. ?
RWolver672 Posted February 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2013 Did your husband use his S&S card when he played poker? Any spending has to be tracked in order to get any perks. There is another posting on here that says that the people chosen for the casino rate is random of the people that do use their cards when gambling. Our upcoming cruise this month is the first one out of six Carnival cruises that we have been offered the casino rate and we always gamble on the cruises. Frank12 Posted February 1, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2013 If you play a lot of table games (blackjack, poker, etc.) you can also request that the pit boss track your play since it is not going on your S&S card like the slots.
CruisingSoon88 Posted February 1, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2013 I was told by a pvp and someone in the players club department that the offers are sent out randomly. According to them, it is not based off of the amount that you play. As others have said though, always make sure that you are being rated at tables and always use your sign & sail card in the slots when you are playing. I always seem to get my offers in bunches. For the past two years I received an offer and then would get one like a month later that covered the same time frame. It was strange. Luckily the second offer always had more casino cash and I just changed to it. I've never gotten one for the special cruises that have the great deals and lots of casino cash, though. 4hunters Posted February 1, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2013 In all honesty, putting $700 through a slot machine over the length of a cruise isn't all that much. Also, for table games you normally need to be betting $25/hand for a few hours a night to get noticed.

Unless you are incredibly unlucky, that amount would generate a fair share of wins, and if pumped back into the machine would certainly create enough points to be noticed by the casino people. The OP did not say, but I would bet her husband is a table player who did not ask to be rated. The slots rating is extremely accurate and objective, while being rated for table play is very subjective, and often in my experience, depends on how well you get along with the dealers and pit bosses. To the OP, have you called the Ocean Players Club? I would suggest you do - you might be surprised; they may actually have noticed you and your husband's play. Kevin C Granted, it does make a difference where you're playing that $700. In Vegas putting $700 through a machine at Wynn isn't going to get you noticed, but that same $700 played at Hooters or Excalibur just might. ;)
nlktx49 Posted February 1, 2013 #8 Share Posted February 1, 2013 We frequently get casino offers, and gamble very little, maybe $300 or so on a 7 day cruise, mostly slots. But we get small perks like chocolate covered strawberries and a photo coupon, and offers for casino cash and the casino rate for cruises. In fact, the cruise we're going on Feb. 17 on the Magic, we got 20% off for the casino rate and some casino cash! I email Ocean Players Club every time we're about to go on a cruise to see what perks we'll get.
lbrav Posted February 1, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 1, 2013 I think it is random. My niece who is 19 went on a cruise with us December 2011 and did not gamble very much. She just received a casino offer for 25% off cruise. I went on 3 more cruises after that one and did not receive anything. I just booked another one yesterday and they told me " no I cannot get casino rate". So I'm beginning to think they know I'm going to go so why offer me the rate???!!!! nlktx49 Posted February 1, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 1, 2013 OceanPlayersClubFeedback@carnival.com Send an email, maybe that will get you on their list! Or at least have them check to see if you've got any perks coming on your next cruise.
peddieplease Posted February 1, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 1, 2013 For how much people spend in casinos and the profit they generate we should ALL get offers. haha
girlsjustwannacruise Posted February 7, 2013 Author #13 Share Posted February 7, 2013 sorry took so long, but thank you all very much for the advice and responses. I did email them so we shall see. My husband plays the video poker mostly so he does use his s&s card there but also plays some other tables and card tourny's. I am a slot player and spend much less. Thanks very much!!!!:D

SadieN Posted February 7, 2013 #15 Share Posted February 7, 2013 Mom has only gotten casino offers for the dates that she has already booked a cruise. Of course she booked ES.
Sh1035 Posted February 7, 2013 #16 Share Posted February 7, 2013 Yes not sure the theory....always got casino rate and now banished. But think they prefer slots players and not tables. Problem is I don't have patience and lost about 1k a day last cruise and on the last night 1k in about 10 minutes. Not going to sit there for 3 hours at 25 a hand.....at least I still get free trips to casinos and Atlantis.
