New to RCCL - Ballroom Dancing Question

DH and I are taking our first cruise on RCCL (Explorer of the Seas) and have heard conflicting information on the availability of ballroom dancing. One cruise planner said it is only available on cruises of 10 days or longer, and another said it is available on all cruises. Who's right?

Did EOS twice, and never saw any ball room dancing.

We have always found ample opportunities to do ballroom dancing to live music - not the stuff you see the pros do, as the dance floors aren't that big (and we aren't that good), but wherever we hear music with the right beat, we dance! Waltz, foxtrot, swing, tango, even quickstep (very dangerous when we're doing it, LOL).

Opportunities have included: the Welcome Aboard Party, C&A party, top tier event, almost any night in the Centrum (Vision and Radiance class), ditto with the Lotus lounge or equivalent on the bigger ships, or the Viking Crown lounge. RCI has kept up the live music as their competitors have been slashing the budget, and we really appreciate it.

There have also been classes held on every cruise we've been on of 7 nights or longer, and sometimes on the shorter ones as well.

The only cruise lines that do some moderate ballroom dancing are HAL and Cunard. We did a lot of dancing on our last cruise on the Zuiderdam, but I would not call it ballroom. Hopefully we will be able to do a little dancing on the FOS, heard they had latin dancing in Boleros??:)

Yes, they do have salsa dancing there.

We've been able to do ballroom dancing on all of our royal cruises, 3 on Explorer. It varies from ship to ship but there have been some cruises where we have been able to find a venue for dancing every night. The floors are not always very big but we adjust and sometimes we are the only people dancing.

There will usually be several opportunities for ballroom dancing listed in the compass but we've found sometimes the bands play music that is anything but!
