IScubaSlo Posted June 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2004 When is the best time to book air for cruise leaving out of Ft Lauderdale Feb 18, 2005? Are there certain times that airlines have sales before then? serene56 Posted June 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2004 As soon as the prices came out for February 13,2005- I was able to jump on a price from Phila to Tampa for 123. round trip. That price included taxes and service fees. I find when looking for my price that Tuesday and Wed was the cheapest. But with the high cost of gas and stuff I havent seen the price come down under 180 since I bought my tickets. My best deal was using airtrans web site instead of the online agencies. Air tran was having a huge sale that day. Good luck. dustyroad Posted June 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2004 as soon as the flights came out for may 2005 i booked directly with northwest for roundtrip to seattle. it was $300 and that included the taxes. it is always higher to fly from my home town than chicago. i beleive the prices are going to go up and stay there because of the fuel situation. in january of this year i bought a rt ticket for pheonix for $220. it has gone up over $100. if the price for my seattle ticket goes down i will call northwest and get a credit. that is another reason i like to check the airline co's first also for their prices. i buy my tickets early also so i can have the card paid off when i get on the ship. mmadhatter Posted June 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2004 After booking our own air for years, I like to establish my comfoirt zone price that I am willing to pay. I use all the web sites listed, look for hte best price and then watch them for a few weeks. Once the price hits within our comoft zone - BUY!. Don't procrasinate. Our flights from Boston to San Juan were runnnign in the $350 - $450 range. With a family of six, it's a lot. My comfort zone was $300 - $350. I just purchased tickets last night at $266 each. Not the best times, but a great price. Adventure of the Seas - Look Out! serene56 Posted June 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Rates usually are available 300 days before you need them. Living on Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun every year. IScubaSlo Posted June 24, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted June 24, 2004 Well I couldnt wait any longer. I booked my air from Pittsburgh to Fort Lauderdale for Feb 17th to Feb 28th. It just kept going up and up, so when United posted air "NON-STOP" with the hours I wanted for $249.00, I jumped on it........ I was getting nervous, because thats Presidents Day week. US Airways has the same flight but they wanted $467.00.......It will probably go down now, but I didnt want to take the chance. Now I have to get the nerve to get a hotel room on Priceline for one night precruise.......I need 4 rooms and was hoping to get Amerisuites, because of the parking there. I have one couple that is going to drive from PA to Florida. Thanks for all the help........
serene56 Posted June 25, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Try reading about hotel availibity on www.biddingfortravel.com This site can give you information what hotels are going for how much. If you are flying in why do you need parking?
