Only prepackaged food may be taken off the ship. Not a cruiseline rule but one of the ports you may be visiting. Food may be confiscated or you could be fined. Don't do it. Bring some granola bars or peanut butter crackers.

you're in a port for eight hours or so... Live a little! Go to a local cafe, restaurant or food cart. This is most of these islands lifeblood. Spend a little cash. Life is short! You'll enjoy it...

Only prepackaged foods can leave the ship. It's for agricultural reasons;insects from one country than can be introduced to another country :eek:

...or come back to the ship around lunchtime and eat on board, then return to port after lunch. 8 hours in port is enough time to do this unless you have an excursion over lunch - at which point lunch might be included. But agree with not trying to bring non-prepackaged food off the ship.

Can you? Most likely, if you take it to your room and do it there.

 

You're likely breaking some local law, though, even though it's unlikely that you'll get found out.
