SoBaycruiser Posted March 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2013 We will be on the Ocean Princess early this summer and have a very very quiet roll call. There were so few of us and no one wanted to plan a M&G so I suggested we just pick a time to meet at the Club Bar or Tahitian Lounge. Final payment is coming up next week and we have gained a few more people. 1) does one have to notify Princess of your M&G if it exceeds a certain number of people? If so, how many? 2) who do we contact about a M&G ?

No need to notify anyone of your gathering. It is no different than having a bunch of friends getting together at a certain place and time. However, if you want to ensure yourself of a decent amount of gathering space, you might want to have Princess set you up with a location and a "No Host" Bar. 2) who do we contact about a M&G ? Not sure if this is up-to- date, but this is the last contact that I had for the Ocean Princess: Renee Wittwer rwittwer@princesscruises.com Hope this helps. paul929207 Posted March 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2013 You do not have to notify Princess, but if you don't you will not have space reserved. There may be other activities in the same place.
bhopal21 Posted March 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2013 1) does one have to notify Princess of your M&G if it exceeds a certain number of people? If so, how many? 2) who do we contact about a M&G ? No it is not necessary to notify Princess unless you are wanting a specific area/room in which to meet. In the past we have always just decided on a bar, lounge or other area as a place to gather. Mike:)
SoBaycruiser Posted March 17, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Thanks everyone. I think we will just keep this informal and suggest a time and place to meet and see who shows up!

Amuse Bouche Posted March 17, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 17, 2013 You might want to check that social network site that no one can mention. Princess maintains a page for each cruise. You may be able to track down a few more people there and invite them to the roll call on CC.

Seal Posted March 17, 2013 #13 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Have hosted several meet and greets on the small ships and met in a bar or in our aft suite--we will usually have a sail away from Bora Bora party in our cabin and have had some good luck with good food and drink provided by some ship personnel--Bora Bora is usually a formal night--but......we rarely participate any longer.. Darcys mom Posted April 3, 2013 #16 Share Posted April 3, 2013 I have been working with Stacey Anderson for our Meet and Greet on the Island Princess cruise for April 15. I emailed her today for a list of the current officers and crew to invite to our Meet and Greet. She replied that Lawrence Andrada has taken over for the Island and the Coral. His email address is landrada@princesscruises.com. Stacey is now Group Services director for the Royal, Regal, Dawn and Sun. Her email address is sanderson@princesscruises.com Hope this helps
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted April 3, 2013 #17 Share Posted April 3, 2013 It all depends on where you want to meet. I was the coordinator for our Golden voyage. We had an informal sail away...just picked a spot and let everyone know. We didn't have any problems and took up two big tables on the lido deck. For our first Formal Meet and Greet, we met in the Wheelhouse. This was arranged by Princess. When we got there, several passengers were enjoying the lounge off to the side. The Bar Manager politely moved them to another location and put a sign up for us. We had the entire area (which was barely enough space) and had a great time. Our Farewell Meet and Greet (also by Princess) was up in Skywalkers on a Sunday morning. Very empty, very quiet, and we sat around for about and hour and just chatted. It is always nice to let Princess know of your plans. It worked out well for our group. Renee

Steviewonder1 Posted April 3, 2013 #22 Share Posted April 3, 2013 We hosted the M&G in our Aft Penthouse Suite on the Crown Princess in 2011 for 35 new friends. We told the Cabin Steward we needed 6 ice buckets and 45 Glasses. We brought on board (then not now with the booze issue) 8 bottles of Champaign and 3 Gallons of OJ. We had a large OBC and ordered several Shrimp Appetizers and trimmings. All was delivered 30 minutes before the party and we posted a Cruise Critic M&G Sign on the door to the Suite. It lasted more than an hour just before lunch. The original schedule was in SkyWalkers Lounge, but my DW suggested that we move it into our Suite, I agreed and we had a Grand Time. You just don't know how these things turn out, but each is different and can be a wonderful time together. We might do this again later this year, still planning..... nasa1974 Posted April 3, 2013 #24 Share Posted April 3, 2013 It really depends on how many you expect at your M&G. If it is a small group say 10-15, picking a place on board or in someones suite shouldn't be a problem and notifying Princess would be no big deal. However, something larger than that it would be in your best interest to notify Princess of your intentions. The last M&G I co-ordinated was over 50 people last October on the Island. This October on the Royal we already have 94 people say that they will attend the M&G. So again it will depend on how many people you expect. Good luck.
