My first voyage on Queen Elizabeth

Yes it will be.

You will love the QE, Whitemarsh, she is a wonderful ship and the crew and food were fantastic.

So sorry to hear that you won't be doing a live blog as your last one was excellent and you are a gifted writer. However, do understand the large

amount of time out of your sailing that had to be devoted to 'take' those of us on shore along with you and appreciate so much you doing the last one and also to rafinmd for his time to do this one on the QE. Thank you both.

“Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quiestest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey.” –Pat Conroy.

Whitemarsh, may your sailing leave you with many great memories:) and the only sad one be that there comes a day called 'disembarkment'..:( (which, sadly, Cunard has always enforced) ;)

best regards,

seasidegal

Rafinmd: We are planning on doing the WC on QE beginning January, 2013.

We were on the QV doing a TA in January, 2013 and found the promenade deck's footing to be treacherous at times and we did not have especially rough seas or extremely rainy weather. I see that you enjoy walking the promenade each day and would like to know how you thought the footing was. We love QM2's teak promenade where we felt very comfortable walking in all climates but we found the 'composite' of QV was often difficult. We're hoping that QE, if it does not have teak, has something a bit better than QV.

Sadly, it is the same as QV: printed plastic decking on both ships  .

(mind you, it is found on QM2 as well in a couple of places)

Bon Voyage! :)

Thank you, Rafinmd and Pepperrn

Do either of you -- or does anyone who else who may be an avid walker on the promenade deck -- have a specific shoe that you find is best for footing on wet decks?
