Does anyone else have a PVP blowing up your phone?

Recommended Posts

Just don't log in. You can check prices without logging in or giving them your info. They may still track it, but I am ALWAYS checking prices on cruises and only get called if I log in first.

But you can't see your offers if you don't log in, so you might not see the best price available to you, such as casino rates. You have to log in to see those.

Well that's what I've done but then it was suggested I answer the phone. I can't win on cruise critic, lol!:D

But than they will call you again. Just doing their job.

One call back after hours at a convenient time for you and leave message that they should not call you and you will call them when ready to book and problem solved.

After a 4 year hiatus and my recent Fantasy cruise, I'm hooked again and I've been stalking prices online. I also called in because we got a casino offer as we were getting off the Fantasy (had to book within two weeks and just wasn't ready).

I guess a PVP picked up my info and for the last week or so he has been calling almost daily.

Do they know I'm logging in and searching bookings online? Is the PVP going to continue to call constantly. It's borderline annoying, but I have yet to pick up because I'm not ready to book. He sounds like a nice guy so I will call when I'm ready.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

pvps are just trying to survive so they make there number for the quarter.

After my last Carnival cruise, I must have still be logged in and when I did a search, the Carnival calls started. I told them that I use a TA who is a good friend and they were polite and hung up. But the calls continued...until I told my good friend and TA who called Carnival and gave them an earful. THEN the calls stopped!

I apparently moved up on his list today, because he called at 12:30 but darn it I was on a call with a client or I would have picked up.

Thanks for all suggestions. I'm going to let him know that I'm interested in last minute "instant saver" type of deal so I'll keep searching on my own.

I'm not aware that a PVP can get you any better deal than booking online. Educate me if I'm wrong.

The PVP system also has a checkbox for "last minute" cruises! So when they have a good deal on last minute cruises that match the other selected criteria on your profile (kept by your PVP) you show up on the query/people to call to offer the deal.

The honest answer is no, a PVP doesn't have any "better" deals to offer you that you can't otherwise book online or on the phone at the main 800#. What a PVP (read a good, knowledgable PVP) can do for you is build a relationship with you to get to know your preferences and when a good deal comes up, she/he can alert you on it, or give you a heads up on a sale, insight into cabin locations, excursion suggestions, and a vast of other services. Tapi did a great job explaining this above too.

Bottom line, sometimes it's not only about getting the rate, one you can get on your own, but the service that comes along as having him/her help you plan your cruise.
