dschultz56 Posted April 6, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2013 The only cruise they show on their web page is an Alaska cruise in June 2013. http://www.thetexastenors.com/. Looking at their tour dates, they are all over the country in April and May, so likely not on a cruise ship. They were on our cruise in Feb 2010 on Voyager. Unfortunatley they had a lot of "private" events through a travel agency. Only those who booked with that agency got to go to these events. But they still had a couple of public shows and it was great.
ssb Posted April 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2013 No they are not, based on below post and other recent Mariner cruises. They were not on our late January cruise either! We just missed them. The Texas Tenors are at the 1894 Grand Opera House - Galveston -Saturday July 6, 2013, if you you would like to plan a cruise around that performance or you live close! The Texas Tenors have sold out the last three years, even with 1100 occupancy, so plan early around attending the performance. We are volunteers at Opera House, and the house is Galveston Proud and it is a wonderful well run non-profit organization! The historic venue provides wonderful year round entertaiment, festivals and events! As example this week is the Childrens Festival!!!
ssb Posted April 6, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 6, 2013 Incidentally The Grand is one of the few remaining theatres of its era in Texas and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. As further recognition of its importance to the citizens of Texas, in 1993 the 73rd Texas Legislature proclaimed The Grand "The Official Opera House of Texas."
