Juneau Ak

This isn't the Caribbean. :) There are several vendors that you can book for a whale watch/Mendenhall pick up/drop off. You do NOT need anything guided. BUT if you do, then book a cruise ship tour.

Lunch- YOU are going to have to find a place suitable for you, simple with a lot of mention on this board of dock area eateries. Pick one, and walk to it. Cabs are also available.

MGT does offer a nice combo Mendenhall city tour, as reasonable rates. Problem is, the time at Mendenhall is short, if you had any interest in Nugget Falls.

If there was such a tour BudgetQueen would know about it. So, step back and think about what you are interested in and how long you have in port.

Do you like hiking or do you have any mobility issues. Is the sky the limit for your budget or do you want to do this very inexpensively.

Post your responses and people will give you ideas.

For example. We did a tour on a small tour bus in the morning. [second Chance Tours--only reason we picked them--was a freebie from our TA, normally costs $40pp] It took us to Douglas island across for Juneau. We stopped to look at the cruise ship across the harbor.

Then back to Juneau to drive around and see the sights without getting out. [Governor's house, Capitol building, historic Franklin St. etc] We stopped at a log church on the outskirsts of town that has a nice view of Mendenhall Galcier--but, we were there on a rainy day. It was still an interesting stop.

Our final stop was at Mendenhall Glacier for an hour. We walked down to photo point. It is right behind the visitor center for pictures. [tour included the $3 admission to Visitor Center] There was no time for a hike to the falls, which takes 45min-1 hour. So, we walked down to the raised walkways by the creek. We saw a Momma bear and two cubs. Then it was back to the ship. They dropped us off right at the ship. We got back onboard to eat lunch and rest for an hour.

Then we did a DIY walking tour of Juneau. We are active AARP types--no mobility issues. :p Juneau is very hilly and may be too much for some to walk.

I am not saying this is what you need to do. I just wanted to give you an idea that sounds close to what you mentioned.

Looking for a recommended full day tour. Whale watch, glacier and tour of the city with lunch

A local company which I highly recommend is M&M Tours. Their contact info is here: http://www.traveljuneau.com/listings/moreInfo.php?ID=44483; they don't have a webpage. It's a husband/wife company and they and their guides take tourists around in nice vans, no big bus. They have set tours but also can create a tour for you.

"The city tour" takes around 15 minutes. We are a very small downtown with few sights and trust me, the rest of Juneau in a town like any other in the country.

They can take you over to Douglas, as Dragon mentioned and also out the Chapel by the Lake, which is the log cabin church mentioned. They'll go out as far as The Shrine of St. Therese which I highly recommend for all the views along the way and at the location. Then they could drop you off at Auke Bay for lunch and whale watching.
