i spent 10 days with godwin when i sailed on the emerald princess in april 2012. at that time, he told me was chosen to be on the new royal princess. do i know if he is or isn't on it, i have no idea now.

Last I heard he and Generoso were headed for the Sun Princess cruising in the Far East for P&O Australia.

When I spoke with Generoso on the Emerald in February, he mentioned that Godwin was sailing in the Far East at that time. He said he would be in the Far East also, but didn't say he and Godwin would be together.

 

Generoso did say neither he nor Godwin would be on the Royal anytime soon.

Yes Generoso will be on the Sun getting them ready for (Japan) in 3 weeks and will be onboard until the end of July when he will go on vacation.

i guess if you're a cruise line employee, nothing is final until it happens!

well, i hope i sail with godwin again sometime but it won't be in asia or south pacific.

And, not to detract from Godwin, because he is as wonderful as everyone says he is, but, honestly, I could name at least five other headwaiters equally good, and that's just from the ships I've been on. Far rarer are the ones who aren't.

In over 30 Princess cruises, I have never found a head waiter that is even close to as good as Godwin.

Last year on the Emerald he was positive he would be on the Royal.

Godwin was the most amazing assistant maitre'd we have ever encountered. By the second night he new our names and he greeted us warmly every time we saw him. We would love to sail with him again.

I thought Godwin was noro waiting to happen with his playing kissy face with the ladies when greeting them in the dining room. Generoso was rude to me and even after his apology the incident is not easy to forget. I think Princess intentionally broke up the "dream team".

Heard from a "horse's mouth" that both Generoso & Godwin will both be on the Sun when it is based in Japan.

We were with Godwin in the Baltics in 2012, and I must say he added such a positive note to our cruise. We looked forward to seeing him each evening.

He made us all feel special.
