Galveston/Navigator Clue....??

Recommended Posts

Just looked at RCI site and it shows Navigator out of Galveston for Mid May 2014....but N/A for pricing.....possible clue?

Noted this on the other thread before I saw your post. Can't be for April and it's curious that the itinerary is a "standard" Roatan to Belize to Cozumel four weeks after the last such voyage on April 20. There's one voyage to Jamaica posted for April 27 then nothing, yet, for May 4 or 11. Quite curious.

But a good harbinger and a good catch! :D

They are probably tired of all mine and others calls to RCL!:(

Glad they have this page up!:)

It is for sure year around then!:D:D

RCL and Galveston had to be working out the details!

And hopefully possible improvements to terminal!

Well, it'll be nice when they finally MAKE UP THEIR MINDS!!! :D :D

That would be great! We would love to book one on her! Isn't Navigator newer than Mariner? Although we loved the Mariner, it would be fun for something a litle different. Anyone sailed both? Any noticeable differences?

COLLIN/HOPE!!!!

We have missed you, how are y'all?

Mariner is one year newer than Navigator. The ships are virtually identical, except for the names of some venues and the artwork.

This would absolutely make my day if this is the case. We try to avoid the hassle of flying whenever possible. Navigator in Galveston next summer would be a done deal for us for sure.

I think Navigator will get some different upgrades than Mariner in next January's drydock. The original list (which has disappeared:confused:) listed all the wifi & signage, the big screen by the pool, the nursery, Diamond Lounge, Vintages upgrade, and the Portofino to Giovanni's Table conversion, but it also had Chef's Table, Park Cafe, and Concierge Club on there!

I know RCCL is debuting the virtual balconies for inside cabins on Navigator, so by the time Navigator comes out of drydock, the two ships will be quite different, especially with all the changes happening on Mariner for the Asian market.

Looking forward to the upgrades. I assume she will get the freestyle machines as well since she will now be US based!

When I was on a Navigator TA a couple years ago, the Chief Engineer said that Navigator might be getting a Flowrider at her next drydock. He was also the one that told us that Oasis would go to Europe for her drydock. (This was in spring 2011.) I've read on CC that the Explorer Captain recently hinted that she would be getting a Flowrider. So, it might be one of the new features. We'll have to wait and see;) Navigator will be different from Mariner. Mariner had a very short 10 day drydock. Navigator's is over 4 weeks.

My TA thought that we were getting NV year round, other people have heard we're not getting anything after NV leaves in May. The next deployment is manana, so hopefully we'll find out.

I hate flying too. Just got back from FLL on Sunday from Allure, great trip, but our flights were delayed for hours (weather systems), some of the worst turbulence ever. It was horrific.

Plus TSA really irritates me. We pay twice as much and get absolutely nothing back, we're being abused by the airlines.

Forgot that Navigator goes to drydock early next year.. I was already excited at the possibility of Navigator next summer. But hearing there will be a Vintages added makes my day!

Vintages is already there, but it's being upgraded with the same improvements they made to it on the Mariner. In fact, the wine machines that were just installed during the Mariner's short drydock are being taken out and installed on the Navigator. I offered to bring one of the machines home as a souvenir since they weren't needed on the Mariner, but alas one wouldn't fit in my suitcase...and they're $10,000 each!

We thought the improved Vintages was great! We were in there every night before dinner.:)

When we disembarked on Sunday, they were already removing a lot of things from the ship. Some of it, like casino carpet, was just going in a dumpster. However, since the Navigator's drydock is taking place in Galveston, I wonder if some of the Vintages fittings were being removed and stored for January? I know Vintages is one of the venues on the Mariner that is being repurposed for shopping.

One thing on the Navigator refurb list that disappeared that I found really interesting was the "Concierge Club." Since Navigator already has an "inside cabin" CL, is it possible they're going to relocate it to a larger more appealing space? We spent very little time in there in the evenings because it was always so crowded.

The Mariner's new Diamond Lounge is beautiful! Alas, we weren't eligible to enter last week...but we are now!:D
