Wall fold down beds question

They are at least as high as an upper bunk bed, sometimes a bit higher. They do have a rail and ladder for safety. If you have a smaller child, ask the room stewart for extra pillows to tuck along the railing to be sure. Also, keep in mind that most of the time (depending on what type of cabin you have) the bunk will be over your bed (if the beds are set up like a queen bed) which gives some added protection.

If you are super concerned, contact the cruise line and see if a roll-a-way bed is available for you on your particular cruise.

Can't speak for your ship but on many if you use an upper above another bed it can't be made into a queen because of the ladder for the upper. Check carefully as you may find the lower setup has to be two twins and not pushed together for a single queen

On our RCI cruises, we've been able to have the queen bed set up. The ladder was placed at the foot of the bunk instead of at the side. That's also how it was done on our Carnival and NCL cruises as well. Hadn't used the bunk on Princess yet.

If your room is not set up that way, just request it.

Nope. The ladder is just moved. We have had this configuration many times. It doesn't affect the lower bed.

OP, there is a rail.
