How can you tell which ships have which amenities?

I'm not a cruise or internet novice, but I'm somehow missing where to find which amenities the Carnival ships have without pulling up each ship individually and going through the annoying flash cards to find what kind of water features are on board. I'm looking to book my daughters' first Carib cruise, and this is the first time I'm as interested in the ship as the ports. With so many routes to choose from, would really appreciate being pointed in the right direction to find which ships are in which class or a list of ships with their amenities.

Thank you!

Best,

Mia

Glad to hear that it's not just me at least. I looked a long time before asking here for help and couldn't believe that it's so difficult - I was afraid I'd immediately get 10 people posting some obvious link that I'd missed. Since I don't care which port we leave from or which route we choose, I would love to be able to choose from ships with fun amenities. My girls loved the Splendor's water park and slide.

Best,

Mia

Classes :

Fantasy Class is the oldest - Elation, Paradise, Ectasy, Fascintation, Fantasy, Imagination, Paradise, Inspiration, Sensation

Destiny Class - Destiny (now the Sunshine but its going to be completely different), Victory, Triumph

Spirit Class - Spirit, Legend, Price, Miracle (Panamax ships - can go thru Panama Canal this is why they do Alaska)

Conquest Class - Conquest, Valor, Freedom, Glory, Liberty

Splendor Class - Splendor, Dream, Magic, Breeze

Sunshine refurb?? Coming to a theatre near you!

Class of ship means they all have same design/layout. Above are listed in older to newer. Every ship has a waterslide. Every ship has mini-golf. I would say that the Splendor Class has the best water play areas of all the ship. The Carnival Breeze is the newest in the fleet.

All the Fantasy class ships have waterworks .. except paradise and elation.

So the rest have more than just a slide.

Also, only about 4 of the Fantasy class had some OVs changed to balconys, the rest do not have a balcony category.

Dream, Magic and Breeze are not Splendor class they are Dream class. All three Dream class ships have different features and are basically evolutions of the previous ship.

Splendor is a one off in a class by itself. Originally being built for Costa it is actually a Concordia class ship.

I think the OP is asking about what restaurants and such, are available on each ship. I have to admit that when I booked my 1st cruise, I was confused as well.

When you go and look at Carnivals website, they way its presented, it looks as if everything is available on each ship, i.e Mongolian, Guy's etc. I have done a fair amount of research myself and have not located a site that breaks down each ship with it's amenity's.

There used to be a great "unofficial" Carnival wiki site that had a lot of that info compiled.

As far as I'm concerned, they ALL have plenty of bars and restaurants. They all have a deli, pizza, ice cream/yogurt; they all have a kids club; they all have a casino and main theatre plus other lounges; they all have a library and a computer area. Fantasy-class ships don't have steak houses. I'm not sure every ship has a Serenity area. Pretty sure Conquest doesn't because I was whining about that for my upcoming cruise! I have no idea which ships have had the 2.0 upgrades but I'm sure there's plenty of info on that on these boards.

For the most part, though, you'll find the same number of restaurants, bars, pools, etc on the ships within the same class (except the 2.0 thing).

But, yes, it would be nice if someone would compile all this and then the mods could "sticky" it on the front page! No, I'm not volunteering! :p

Actually 2.0 doesn't increase the number ... just rebrands some food stations/bars.

Can you tell I haven't paid much attention? :p

I know the Fantasy-class as far as basic layout but can't tell you which have the added balcony cabins and which don't have water slides because I use neither.

And I haven't kept up with the 2.0 because I don't sail those larger ships. I take it Conquest has had the 2.0 but they don't have a Serenity Deck. Sailed both Triumph and Victory and couldn't tell any difference from Glory except there was no Fish & Chips even though there is upper-level dining space.

I think of Carnival ships (except the Spirit class) as just larger and larger variations of the Fantasy-class floating-shoe-box design. They've just expanded the size, added decks, added balcony cabins, more bars and food places to feed the hungry hoardes. ;)
