missac Posted May 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2013 ... we are going to give HAL a shot for Thanksgiving, on the Westerdam as so many of you reccomended... in a Neptune Suite. :-) VERY VERY excited. Anyone have any tips for the Neptune Lounge or other things available to suite passengers? Can we have hot breakfast delivered to our room? What about other meals? Also - anyone done the Le Cirque dinner and is it worthwhile? Thanks again, I hope to see some of you nice people on our cruise!! Aimee

Boytjie Posted May 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2013 Anyone on the ship can get hot breakfast delivered to the cabin :D You can write some stuff in (like eggs benedict) and it will done - I think the MDR needs to be open but not so sure how true that holds. One time I ordered it and when they delivered it I was told it was too early but that they would be happy to deliver it when it was possible. You can even order dinner for room service from the MDR menu. We did Le Cirque for the first time in February and enjoyed it a lot. Only you can decide whether it is worthwhile; for us it was. I can't help you with suite questions since we have never stayed in one.
mmr923 Posted May 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2013 Yes! Your balcony wraps! All pax can have hot breakfast from room service - not just Neptune. We did Cirque on Westerdam last May and enjoyed the food and experience very much. It's definitely not for those who ate in a hurry - it's dining not eating. You'll love it! NoobCruise Posted May 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2013 ...one more :-) The suite we booked is at the back of the ship on deck 5 - does the balcony really wrap around the way it looks on the deck map? We were in SB8147 on the 8th deck. I believe the balcony on deck 5 is even bigger than ours was, but here are some shots of ours. 014 Our Balcony by Rescue-Diver, on Flickr There was another lounger behind me when I was getting this shot. CruiseWhere Posted May 9, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2013 Make sure you try the Pinnacle Grill. It's one of our favourites!!! You will certainly appreciate the laundry and dry cleaning which is included with staying in a Suite. The Neptune Lounge has a wonderful set up which they do 3 times a day! Enjoy!!! You'll never want to go do anything other than a suite once you've tried it. Enjoy the "Suite Life" and being spoiled:D

Aimee Westerdam is a great ship, my favorite suite perk was the breakfast at the Pinnacle such a great way to start the day, Pinnacle is also great for lunch(10 dollars) or dinner (25) , in general I perfer Pinnacle dinner over Le Circe, but we had great Le Circe dinner last week. sail7seas Posted May 9, 2013 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2013 We sailed Westerdam, b-to-b, last Thanksgiving and the week after. We had a wonderful time. :) Neptune Lounge had lovely offerings and the usual of all we have come to expect from all the ships. We nibbled from it throughout the day. :)
djhsolara Posted May 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2013 ...one more :-) The suite we booked is at the back of the ship on deck 5 - does the balcony really wrap around the way it looks on the deck map? Yes it does. We were in one of the 5th floor aft corner suites on Westerdam three years ago. The balcony is amazing. According to the steward, those two aft balconies are the largest on the ship. The outdoor space for those suites is larger than some balcony rooms on the ship. Douglas...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Krazy Kruizers Posted May 9, 2013 #12 Share Posted May 9, 2013 Westerdam is one of our favorite ships. I sure hope that the Neptune Lounge has all the offerings that are supposed to be offered. We got caught in a mess. There was no sneeze guard over some of the foods so what was offered compared to what we have had on this ship in previous years and on all our other cruises was minial. Yes -- you can order as much as you want for breakfast lunch and dinner in your Neptune Suite.

Krazy Kruizers Posted May 9, 2013 #17 Share Posted May 9, 2013 Every day you will receive the evening's dinner menu for the main dining room. If you decide that you want to have dinner in your cabin, you can tell the conceirges what you want and when you want it. All courses will be delivered at the same time compared to the dining room. AZNative2000 Posted May 9, 2013 #19 Share Posted May 9, 2013 ...one more :-) The suite we booked is at the back of the ship on deck 5 - does the balcony really wrap around the way it looks on the deck map? If you have an aft-wrap on deck five, (5190 or 5191) not only does it wrap, it is fully covered. Those are also the two largest SCs on the ship. Here is a link to a photo that may help. See the second cabin deck up. Balcony looks a bit shaded compared to the others. You will love it! Especially if it rains.:):) LINK: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qflXgcdwQ7Y/UWfXPypeRCI/AAAAAAAAETU/z6SA7McpGus/s1600/IMG_7863.JPG Click the photo and it gets bigger. Cheers!
