Purchasing beverages for Southern cruise

My DH and I will be flying into San Juan for a Southern Caribbean cruise. I think I have read that we can purchase wine and other beverages at the port??????? Can someone please enlighten me ?

There is a small duty free shop at the terminal building where they sell wine, soda, and water. Don't recall if they sell beer.

 

Royal now allows you to bring 2 bottles of wine on board, per stateroom, not to exceed 750ml each.

 

Technically, any other beverage is not allowed, but the rule is usually not enforced.

Just to confirm, this is at Pan American pier? Is the shop easy to see if you have a taxi drop you at the check-in location? Is it inside the terminal (after checking luggage) or outside?

Yes, Pan American Pier. Inside the terminal, after checking baggage.

Yes it's very easy to find. We brought our wine with us so can't tell you what the selection is like but other people on our ship said it wasn't great and as the day went on there was even less of a selection. So if there is a certain kind that you like just take it with you. We wrapped ours in bubble wrap and it made it just fine

We bought ours at a Walgreens in Isle Verde before we got to the port. However, there was a small shop in the terminal.

 

We took a few bottles of water and a 6-pack of Diet Coke in my carry on bag. There was no issue with this.
