He didn't specify where he was going. He did come back in April to do a brief fill-in when Jimmy Rhodes was recovering from knee surgery, and to my knowledge, he hasn't taken another job yet

Just got off the Explorer leigh said at this time he doe not know if he coming back in november 1 he ask to be ON the allure so he said if he does not go to the allure and then he Will return to the Explorer ON november 1

It could happen! He's not a regular on any particular ship, and Serenade does not have a regular CD, so if you are really lucky, he just might be assigned there in time for your cruise! :D

Just off Legend and the cd was Luke Aerowsmith vice Topi. No chance to corner Luke to see if this was short or long- term thing.

 

Luke was awesome. Probably the best CD I've seen in quite awhile.

I see you have been on Summit and scheduled to go again so I assume you like it. Is the ship lively? Entertainment? activities? or is it a ghost town after 9pm. service? food?

Entertainment is very important to us on a cruise - we go to all the shows and a lot of the activities

 

On the Bermuda itinerary, during the summer, the ship is very lively! Entertainment was awesome - there are 3 production shows on a 7 day cruise featuring more talented singers/dancers, and a much larger troupe, than RCI. The singers/dancers also perform additional concerts, including a late night jam session with the lounge acts and the band members, featuring music THEY like, and not what is scripted for them. Food and service were outstanding. Plenty of activities during the day. The officers are all over the ship interacting with the passengers, greeting us as we enter/exit the MDR or theatre, etc. The crew was very friendly.

 

Maybe it was the variety of things offered that were new-to-us, but we actually had a better experience on Summit than on our recent RCI cruises - even my early-20s daughters agree. One area that's much better on RCI is the buffet, but Summit has instituted new things in their buffet, and they are still working the kinks out, so we'll see if it is an improvement. (They do have a counter were you can get real ice cream for free in the buffet, in some quite interesting flavors - the cinnamon is to-die-for!)

 

I have read reviews from people who traveled on the Caribbean itinerary during the winter, and it seems to be the opposite - an older crowd, very quiet in the evening, etc. I haven't been on the ship during this time, so I can't comment.

Since you are booked on that sailing, maybe you can use the email for the concierge or for entertainment info to try and find out????

I think John Perry was the CD on the Navigator transatlantic last November.
