Costs at Half Moon Cay

I don't know much about this island at all. All we want to do is lay on a nice beach with some shade and have food and drinks available. Is there a cost to go to a beach like that? Is the beach right by the ship?

A little reading on the many huge threads on HMC located here would reveal that if you just want to go lay on the beach, and eat at the buffet ashore, it won't cost a single cent extra.

Like any where else associated with HAL or Carnival, soft drinks, alcohol, etc., come with a cost.

There is plenty of beach available about 100 yards or so from where the tender drops you ashore.

Tender boats drop you about 2 minutes walk from being on the beach. Tons of free lounge chairs, shade, and a few shops. CCL takes food off and cooks it at the thatch roof kitchen---it's all free. You do have to pay for alcohol and soda, with your sail and sign card. Guessing Celebrity does similar with the barbeque/cookout.

This is a beautiful place, you will enjoy it!

Nothing is free. You've paid for it in the price of your cruise.

45 acres of beach, find yourself a place in the sun or shade. Relax with a cool drink and have a good time.

There are plenty of bars and waiters to make sure you always have a cool drink.
