Sushi in the Windjammer

Recommended Posts

It's been a few years since I've cruised Royal... but I remember when I was on Freedom & Liberty, there was sushi nightly in the Windjammer. I used to get it as a sort of appetizer to have in my cabin while getting ready for dinner.

I'm sailing on Explorer in October. Is there still sushi in the Windjammer?

Yes, the Freedom and Voyager class ships still have "Jade Sushi and Asian-fusion cuisine" as a complimentary option.

They open at 6:30 pm and on Navigator they even set up an area at the front left of the Windjammer with silver, napkins and soy sauces along with the small bowls.

While I liked this as I was just coming for sushi as an appetizer as well, I did feel the sushi itself was a little better on Liberty.

It looks like Navigator will be the first to get an Izumi Sushi in February 2014, which is al la carte. The others will most likely follow. I would guess Jade would then be replaced.

I experienced Izumi on Serenade and the sushi was excellent in comparison and well worth the price for 6-10 pieces at $2.50 standard to $6 deluxe.

The first generation Voyager Class ships don't have Jade, they have Island Grill. The second generation Voyager class ships have Jade (Navigator and Mariner).

Jade is listed in the Dining Options under all the ship's highlights...

More complimentary options including Windjammer Café, Jade Sushi and Asian-fusion cuisine, Café Promenade for coffee and pastries/snacks, and room service*

When I checked the new deck plans for Navigator prior to my May sailing, I was concerned as they had taken away Jade from the deck plans. I was happy to find it was still there and surprised to find a full grill aft in Windjammer as it was not expected on Navigator.

The deck 11 deck plans currently show same layout for all Voyager ships, but do have different descriptions. So, here is another area of confusion.
