Estealvarado Posted July 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2013 My mom booked a private water taxi to pick us up at our hotel (londra palace) from st.marks square and take us to the cruise port so we can board our cruise. Does anyone have an idea where the water taxis drop you off at the cruise port? Were wondering if they will leave us next to the cruises or do we still have to take the people mover and walk a distance to get to them?
helpthejuggler Posted July 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2013 There is a landing stop used by water taxis near to the ships. You will not need the people mover from there. You may still have a walk to the embarkation point.

helpthejuggler Posted July 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2013 One one side of the port are a number of port buildings used for check in next to ships in one side of the berths. The port has a helpful website which may answer some questions on the layout. The ship schedule will show which berth your ship is located at. http://www.vtp.it/terminal/crociere.jsp

Baseball fan Posted July 8, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2013 We used a water taxi from our hotel near st marks to the ship. The taxi dropped us off at the front of the ship. The porters immediately took our luggage and we walked to the building to checkin. Very convenient... Although not inexpensive it is a lot of fun! Baseball fan Posted July 8, 2013 #8 Share Posted July 8, 2013 The water taxi was about 100 euros. My mom has mobility issues so it made the most sense for us. Although getting in and out was a bit difficult for her, walking any long distances wasn't an option. euro cruiser Posted July 8, 2013 #10 Share Posted July 8, 2013 You can have your hotel book a water taxi for you, no need to do this yourself.
Earl Rosebery Posted July 8, 2013 #11 Share Posted July 8, 2013 How mich did the private water taxi cost you to cruise port? A water taxi from St. Mark's to the port should not be more than 80 euros. Your hotel can arrange it. They also might find someone to share with you. If they try to charge a lot more, then they are pocketing the difference. The private alilaguna water buses (blue line) use the same docks as the water taxis. There is one immediately in front of the Londre Palace- San zaccaria. The fare is 7 euros pp and it is 30 minutes to the port. They run every half hour. http://www.alilaguna.it
Baseball fan Posted July 8, 2013 #12 Share Posted July 8, 2013 Our hotel got one for us. It was tricky as they had to pick us up on a tiny canal near a gondola stop (which was outside of our hotel). He maneuvered the taxi perfectly to get us thru. There was 5 of us with all of our luggage. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
