Eng23 Posted July 10, 2013 #26 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Just curious. How was your Mom able to use Marriott Rewards points to obtain rooms at a Hyatt property? Marriott and Hyatt have separate loyalty programs (I do belong to both programs)? I have never been able to use Marriott points for Hyatt hotel stays and vice versa. Eng23 Posted July 10, 2013 #28 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Those four FP&L smokestacks at Port Everglades will be gone next week. Just saying. Demolished in the name of progress!! The runway extension is going to be a well needed addition to FLL.

Sorry, I just asked her and she said from the Capital One card. For some reason I was thinking she used her Marriott card.

swim13 Posted July 10, 2013 Author #32 Share Posted July 10, 2013 I'm glad I was able to see the infamous stacks before they are demolished! So now we get to the kids club in the front of the ship (Deck 14). Most of these areas I took through a glass window so you will notice some glare, sorry I just didn't open the doors because they were either locked or were occupied. I have to say this area looked AWESOME! It made me want to be a young kid for a day, just ONE day though =P Here is a craft room, I forget the name. This area is perfect, the kids put together a show that is held in this room for their parents! There are also DreamWorks movies that play here at various times. swim13 Posted July 10, 2013 Author #34 Share Posted July 10, 2013 I love how RCI has the Royal Babies and Tots now! I believe this is a relatively new program released on the Oasis class and is now being implemented on all their ships, can anyone confirm this? The SUN DECK! This is where we were all going to meet up for sail away, it was really perfect! =D This port is very close to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport
swim13 Posted July 10, 2013 Author #35 Share Posted July 10, 2013 I love these little (or should I say LARGE) signs located near the elevators, besides having the interactive screens, these are very useful! Love, love, love this place!!
swim13 Posted July 10, 2013 Author #36 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Unfortunately I never had anything from here, I just don't like anything Coffee related although the food looked great! This cafe is perfect to grab something after a good workout! The gym was an okay size but I never used it so I'm not sure how it worked.

swim13 Posted July 10, 2013 Author #38 Share Posted July 10, 2013 VITALITY AT SEA! As I come to a close with the Gym and Spa pictures, I just wanted to make a few quick notes. I think this area is perfect! It doesn't have the sea view you would expect but the layout is great. You walk in and there is the cafe on the right, salon, then in the middle is the appointment/info area. To the left is the gym (which was a stairway to the track, how awesome is that?!), and to the right you walk down to the spa which is awesome by the way! More on the spa later. !!!!!!One of my favorite pictures from the trip!!!!!

swim13 Posted July 10, 2013 Author #42 Share Posted July 10, 2013 SAIL AWAY! The muster drill was a smooth process, it was quick and we didn't even need to wear a life jacket or go outside. I love how they updated it! What was also nice is that they just told everyone in their language to read what to do in their cabin if they don't understand English. We went to Deck 14, out to the Sun Deck and it was perfect! We stood on top of the starboard side bridge "wing". It actually got extremely windy and once we had been out of the port for a good 20 minutes, a guy came and closed it off. It was so fun, I was trying to run against it and I was definitely not going fast at all! We got out of port faster than I though but I didn't mind. We got very lucky with the weather, it was rainy early in the morning but we ended up having a beautiful day!
swim13 Posted July 10, 2013 Author #43 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Here's the last time seeing/hearing an airplane for a week (or will it be?! :O) So then we went to the Solarium and swam for awhile. Then we went to dinner and I forgot my camera! Sorry, I got it in time for dessert so you will get to enjoy a little food porn for Day 1. Don't worry there is a lot more food porn to come! =D We had the late dinner (8:30 pm) and it was just perfect for us! Gave us time to relax before. Junnel and Suellen were AMAZING! More on the MDR to come later, but the food for everyone in my party was terrific.
swim13 Posted July 10, 2013 Author #44 Share Posted July 10, 2013 OKAY! So Day 1 is coming to a close, as I was saying, it was a light picture day and I definitely didn't cover even half of the ship! =D I have to go to the movies to meet some friends now and go watch my World War Z movie!! I will post the CRUISE COMPASS for Day 1 tomorrow. I have work till 4 so I will try to work on the next batch of pictures there and post later in the day. Thanks for following along so far! I will respond to everyone tomorrow. I hope you are enjoying, please leave a response!!! THANKS! Nice replica! There was a live band playing in Dazzles on my way to bed, I thought the lighting was awesome! I went to bed early tonight because of a lack of sleep from the night before. See you tomorrow! :D
PCWalton1 Posted July 10, 2013 #45 Share Posted July 10, 2013 So anyway, I loaded up the movie "28 Weeks Later" on the iPad and watched that! We got to the airport about 2 hours before we even boarded but we found the perfect amount of rocking chairs in a quiet, empty corner with amazing views of the runway! Besides being obsessed with cruise ships, I also love planes. Checking in was a breeze, going through the security line was also a breeze. My stepdad got a knee replacement at the beginning of the year and every time we went through security, he got stopped! =P That became a joke on the trip, it was pretty funny hearing him say "It's my knee, It's my knee!!" and the security guy not even acknowledge him while running the little scanner around his whole body. I feel your stepdad's pain. I got a new knee back in November and every airport, every port I set it off. :( Sent from my Kindle Fire HD using Tapatalk
Rare shipshape sam Posted July 10, 2013 #46 Share Posted July 10, 2013 Well I'm back from Chili's, I know, I just can't get away from Mexican food! =P The Zombie Date - So about a month before the cruise I got this awful pain where my one wisdom tooth is coming in, I mean it seriously felt like my gums were being stabbed! I went to the dentists who referred me to an oral surgeon and of course I was nervous because I have OCD about everything going perfect (health wise) for the cruise! I got antibiotics and some kind of mouth wash for a week and it worked like a charm! I got extra to bring with me on vacation because I was not about to miss that roast beef sandwich! Now we live near the border of NY and PA (anyone heard of Seneca Lake, probably not but I'm still curious to how many people have actually heard of it =P) and we have a regional airport but its very expensive to fly from here so we chose to fly out of Buffalo Niagara International Airport. I was actually pretty surprised how nice the airport was! But anyway lets back up a day. We were getting things that were packed in the car on Friday night, our plan was for my brother, his partner, me, my mom and stepdad to drive up together. My moms trunk was way too small! We ended up borrowing my grandpas SUV for the trek up to Buffalo. Man was that a fun ride, I think my legs went numb a few times and I had a pain that actually talked sitting next to me (haha just kidding josh (brother)!). We had a flight in the afternoon to give us time to get up to Buffalo so we didn't have to stay in a hotel two nights in a row. My friend and his family caught a direct flight and got to spend the day in Ft. Lauderdale. So anyway, I loaded up the movie "28 Weeks Later" on the iPad and watched that! We got to the airport about 2 hours before we even boarded but we found the perfect amount of rocking chairs in a quiet, empty corner with amazing views of the runway! Besides being obsessed with cruise ships, I also love planes. Checking in was a breeze, going through the security line was also a breeze. My mom and I went to the little gift store to buy some water (I needed something to drink since I brought these 17 inch long Twizzlers) and ended up buying World War Z to read. I supposed I am also obsessed with ZOMBIES right now too, ugh I'm going to see the movie later! Has anyone watched The Walking Dead?! Such a good show! Anyways, I read and used my camera for a bit. My stepdad got out his portable speaker and hooked his phone up to it...he started playing "#Beautiful", Mariah Carey's new song and it was so loud and embarrassing that I had to put my head down as a natural instinct, lol! At this point, people were right next to us too, haha oh man! What deck is the airport on?
momzcruzing Posted July 10, 2013 #47 Share Posted July 10, 2013 I've savored every word and picture of Gambee's reviews and now I'm loving yours too. Thanks so much for all the work you both are putting in for our enjoyment. Your pictures are amazing. I was on Allure a few weeks ago and I'm not recognizing many of your pictures. I guess I'll have to hurry back, it seems that there is more exploring to do!

Rare BillOh Posted July 10, 2013 #50 Share Posted July 10, 2013 I have been in post cruise withdrawals since coming back from Allure the beginning of June. Looking forward to you picking me back up. :D Bill Another Bill in the same boat (pun intended) I enjoy reading reviews from different perspectives and either seeing pictures of or hearing new things even after 2 times on Allure. Plus there is always watching to see what's new. I'll enjoy the review, I think the 3rd of this class will be out before I go back on Allure again.
