Best place on Bourbon St. for live jazz

There is plenty of excellent jazz all over New Orleans, but if you want Bourbon St. next to Fritzels, is the Funky Pirate, and Big Al Carson, rocks. :)

Frenchman is a winner with several options, Snug Harbor, has some excellent shows, the Spotted Cat has some of my favorites. :)

Another outside of the quarter winners is the Maple Leaf, and Mid City Rock and Bowl.

Preservation Hall is a classic and "must do". But they now only allow one session per admission, they also now offer reserved seats, which can be a big bonus. :)

when the place is closed, the very best traditional New Orleans Jazz will be found at the Palm Court on Decatur in the French Quarter - just two blocks up (away from the river) from French Market.
