Fog in June

Hello All -

We are going to book the Magic for either June or July 2014. I know sometimes fog is an issue in Galveston. Was hoping some one could tell me if June was typically clear, or might pose a problem?

Thank you,

Pam

When cold fronts coming across or down from the northwest and north US dip down into Texas

then fog can occur.

These same fronts usually swing eastward and northeastward

and sometimes cause much more severe weather problems to the east coast.

Last year it's my understanding there was only one fog delay for cruise ships

in Galveston during November to April.

None otherwise.

Thank you for the responses- and the head's up on the heat:). For some reason I thought fog had been an issue with the ships. Perhaps there was a very foggy season some time back. Looks like we will be booking June.

Fog can be problem upon entire gulf coast Texas to Florida

during fog season depending on Mother Nature.

Supposively US Coast Guard, cruise lines, and port authorities

met, and have made changes in order to help get ships in and out of port in Galveston during certain conditions.

So between changes and apparantly less fog last year

Galveston was smooth sailing even with more ships sailing out of there.

This link is a Galveston weather history. It includes fog days by month.

Be patient. The web site is slow to open.

Kind of weird. We don't have snow and the average summer temp in July & August is well into the 90's.

Last time it snowed was December 24, 2004.

And this week we are looking at triple digit temps with the always fun humidity.

Hi Trucker Dave Where have you been?

I look on the bright side when it comes to the humidity.

Women up North pay a fortune for facials and to go to the sauna:(

I just walk out on the back porch and get it all free:D

My last extended journey (aka work) took me to Erie Pa, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Maine, New Jersey, Knoxville, Charlotte, Atlanta, Panama City Fl, and now home in Houston.:D
