And for the younger ones they also have to get a passport renewed every five years. That is not a new rule either. And that one makes sense too.

Okay - here is the confusion: I was responding to the below but after a quick search it is obvious it is not true. That was the part that didn't make sense to me. Not that minors needed two people, etc.

It stated very clearly said that that PO's no longer process passport renewals. They have to be handled by mail, or you have to go to a regional passport center.

 

I just did a search and the post office is still allowing you to renew. It just didn't make sense to make people go to one of the 25 passport offices in the country every time someone needed to renew a passport or a child needed a passport. That was my only point.
