The Spot, Galveston

Recommended Posts

Since our cruise out of Galveston will be with our 4 yr old DGD, I'm trying to pick a good restaurant for dinner the night Pre-cruise. Looking for something our DGD will enjoy, and The Spot sounds interesting. Any comments pro or con, or other suggestions?

The spot with four or five bars can be nice for drinking and people watching on weekends

But crowded and noisy and with bands and motorcycles.

Try

Rainforest cafe

on Seawall for children

Rainforest Cafe - Galveston

Thanks! Rainforest Cafe is great, but we've been to them in several places. I saw The Spot written up as a good Kid's place somewhere else, but it doesn't sound like the best choice from your description.

We're spending a Friday night at Hotel Galvez, so unless something stands out, we'll look for something closer to the hotel (Millers?), or maybe the amusement pier.

The downstairs restaurant is kid friendly. Our grandson loves it. There are a few video games & nice little ice cream & bakery counter. Check out their web site for the kid's menu.

The upstairs venues are for age 21 & over. There is a bar area downstairs but it is separate from the main dining area.

We love the spot !

Yes you are correct except on most weekends

When the cycle crowds and bands are there.

During week there is a good happy hour for overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

Upstairs in fairly new large palapa Rum Shack

If you going for yourself go to Spot

If you are going for your 4 year old

Go to rainforest .

Both are suitable

and Bubby Gumps is on Pleasure Pier

and Fishermans Wharf across street!

Saltgrass is walkable also.

Millers is more reasonble than other three!

Actually the Galvez has new restaurant also,

and if like restaurant in The Tremont, a sister hotel, it should be very good!

There are some rides for the younger kids at Pleasure Pier.

Moody Gardens a family entertaiment complex,

if you have time it is wonderful for kids and adults! moodygardens.com
