Katjoy Posted August 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2013 We are sailing to Alaska on the Golden Princess Sunday August 18th, 2013. On my most recent e-mail from Princess it listed a new item. PROGRESSIVE CRUISE CHECK-IN. "To help facilitate a smooth start to your voyage, we have implemented a progressive cruise check-in schedule. Please arrive at your check-in time listed below. Priority check-in will be available to passengers with a Preferred Boarding Pass within the allocated check-in times after clearing security and dropping off luggage. Boarding will commence at 12:00 pm. Once onboard, enjoy a meal at the Horizon Court which remains open throughtout the day to serve you." 11:00 am - Dolphin Deck/Cabins that begin with "D" 11:30 am - Caribe and Fiesta Decks/Cabins that begin with "C" and "F" 12:00 pm - Lido and Sun Decks/Cabins that begin with "L" and "S" 12:30 pm - Baja and Plaza Decks/Cabins that begin with "B" and "P" 1:30 pm - Aloha and Emerald Decks/Cabins that begin with "A" and "E" Have they started implementing this? We live about 40 minutes from Pier 91 in Seattle. A friend is taking us to the pier & we plan to be there by 11 to 11:30. We are on Deck 12 Aloha. Pam in CA Posted August 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2013 This has been the case for at least a couple of years. It's a request and rarely enforced.
Katjoy Posted August 14, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted August 14, 2013 Thank you Pam...as you can see we have not cruised in quite a while. I really appreciate your input. :D

satxdiver Posted August 14, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2013 We embarked in Seattle last September for AK r/t cruise and it was not enforced as much as I could see. We boarded very soon after boarding began.
Rare trbarton Posted August 14, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2013 I boarded the Grand in May for it's first Alaska cruise and although my boarding instructions said to board at 1:30 pm nobody said a thing when I entered the terminal at 12 noon. The boarding had started 20 minutes earlier. Like other people have said it's not being enforced. I'm traveling on the Grand in December after a 10 day dry dock and plan to arrive at around 11 am. If nothing else I can drop off my luggage. Tom:)
