canadarocks Posted August 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2013 We will be in Barbados from 7:00am - 4:00pm on a Friday in March. We want to visit Harrison Caves and then head to Lobster Alive for a few hours. I'm hoping you all can help me decide if this is a good plan. Princess offers a cave tour for $69 per person from at 8:15-11:15am. We could re-board the ship afterwards and eat lunch, then grab a taxi to Lobster Alive for a few hours and then taxi back. I thought of doing it independently, but the caves don't open until 8:45am so we would end up with the cruise ship crowd anyway (I don't want to spend the afternoon there) and the $30 entrance fee combined with taxi fare would add up as well. So what do you think? Are the caves "not to be missed"? Will that be enough time at the beach to make it worthwhile? How long a taxi trip is it to get to (and from) Lobster Alive at Carlisle Beach? How long a taxi trip is it to get to (and from) Lobster Alive at Carlisle Beach? Harrisons Caves are one of our biggest and most popular attractions. The others are local Monkeys (you see them when you see them) -and Sea Turtles, which are a good bit more predicatable. How long for the drive from Harrison Cave to Lobster Alive? about 30-40 mins It's downhill most of the way. . In Toronto Posted August 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Is Lobster Alive a little more subdued than Boatyard? I have read some reviews where the Boatyard sounds a little wild. We don't mind a lively atmosphere but we are a little (?) older and really don't want blaring music and drunk patrons. Opinions please. Thanks. Aplmac Posted August 18, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Is Lobster Alive a little more subdued than Boatyard? ===> Considerably so. I have read some reviews where the Boatyard sounds a little wild. ===> Younger crowd. We don't mind a lively atmosphere but we are a little (?) older and really don't want blaring music and drunk patrons. Lobster Alive is a good deal more subdued than Boatyardand sounds very much like the place for you. Lobster has these huge beach umbrellas that work very well to shield you from the sun, too. . In Toronto Posted August 19, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Thank you. I think that it will be Lobster Alive for us. What is the restaurant like? We would only want snacks or small meals and a couple of drinks.

I will be going via Carnival Liberty in June and a tour of the caves and beach sounds exactly what we are looking for. Who did you do the tour with? canadarocks Posted March 22, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted March 22, 2015 Just realized that this thread was from way back in 2013, not a different one that was from this year. Can't recommend the guide mentioned earlier as we didn't end up going with him.
