IdahoCruises Posted August 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2013 Have searched and found no really good answers. Is there a daily, cabin, or cruise limit for the casinos? I believe the slots still take bills so that your shipboard account does not "over bloat". Any answers would be greatly appreciated as we sail in October and want to make sure we are prepared. And, yes, as I have heard, the slots do not pay well. That, to us, just helps us to spend less.....thanks again.

Loonbeam Posted August 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2013 There is a daily limit if you are drawing fees direct from your onboard account (charge to CC). I THINK its around $500 but am not sure. If you are drawing from pre-purchased or other OBC in excess of what is earmarked for the cruise, I think you can pull as much as you want in a day, but there may be a per session limit. From that link: "Charges for obtaining chips and tokens in the casino are limited to $1,500 USD per day, up to a total limit of $15,000 USD per person, per cruise and are only available if you have pre-registered a credit card with the Passenger Service/Purser's Desk for Express Check-Out." So for two people you could have a limit of $30,000 if this is a cruise with 10 days that the casino is open.

bulldog on water Posted August 23, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2013 you can also gift yourself casino credits before you sail on your credit card from home and the money will be there when you get there. Also avids any service charge. just like sending someone flowers, only to yourself.
sea_u_onboard Posted October 29, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 29, 2013 What is the service charge for withdrawing money at the casino? I know some cruiselines only charge a fee if you get chips at the table, while setting up an account on the slots does not incur a fee.
sea_u_onboard Posted October 29, 2013 #9 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Also - if you purchase casino credit in advance what happens if you don't use it all? Never know, may win big on the first night and not have to tap into the rest - LOL
MGnut Posted October 29, 2013 #10 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Also - if you purchase casino credit in advance what happens if you don't use it all? Never know, may win big on the first night and not have to tap into the rest - LOL On our last cruise (on the Emerald in Sept, '13) the 'Casino Cash" I pre-ordered showed up on my account as 'On Board Credit' - not casino vouchers as in the past. To get the excess back, I just loaded it all onto my casino account on my cruise card, then went to the Casino cashier and drew it all out as cash. Simple! Howard edit to add: Just make sure you cash it out by the last night of the cruise!!

This is a new policy verified while onboard the Royal a few days ago.

Fuzzyape Posted October 30, 2013 #13 Share Posted October 30, 2013 I was told (while on our Hawaiian cruise a few years ago), that there was no service charge for using your sail card to obtain cash from the casino. As others have pointed out there are limits to the amount each day and per cruise you can use. Hopefully, the rule is still in play. We used to buy casino credits, but this time we'll just use our sail cards while onboard the ship. Whichever way you go, may all your slot machines pay big! I don't like this change. We use the prepay simply as the method of not having to transport cash from home to ship. We prefer to keep our casino budget completely separate from other ship expenses. We set our limits (daily and cruise), not Princess. As rated table - not slot - players, casino personnel are well aware of our action. Shalom from Tel Aviv. When we boarded I looked for the "Casino Credit" vouchers I expected, and only found the vouchers that said the casino credits were applied as OBC. It worked out OK for me. I just sent them to have $$ available for private excursions and cash - no big deal for me. I don't spend much in the casino normally - just a little slot play. Hope you can make it work for you.
