Club Royale - benefits?

Recommended Posts

I just took my first cruise, which was free because I am a Platinum M life member. During that cruise, I was invited to be a member of Club Royale.

I have now booked my second cruise and when booking, I had to make a choice between using my Gold RC perks (which, at this point, was only a $25 certificate), or my Platinum M Life perks (10 free drinks, dinner at Chops, No fee to get cash using Sea Pass card, etc.)

Then I read on another thread that you also don't have to pay the 5% fee by being a member of Club Royale. I also heard that you can get drinks free by being a member of Club Royale (not sure of the details).

So my point is, I don't want to choose the M Life perks and give up RC perks if I can get the same perks through Club Royale.

I don't see anywhere where it mentions officially what the perks of being a member of Club Royale are - can anyone share their knowledge.

The casino host should have given you a letter letting you know about the benefits you'd get from Club Royale. I remember getting one... then again, maybe it came in the mail after the cruise.

Anyway, Club Royale members don't pay the 3%/5% fee for cash from the SeaPass account and they get free drink coupons throughout the cruise depending on their level of play. In my experience, the host has given me four drink coupons per day which was plenty for me including some to share with my traveling companion. I have received specialty dining from the host, but again, that was dependent on my level of play.

The biggest benefit from Club Royale is that you can earn future cruise discounts/cash rebates based on your level of play. I've had anywhere from $300 to over $1,000 for upcoming cruises.

You might want to call Club Royale and discuss it with them to get more details that I may have overlooked. You can reach them at 888-561-2234.

I did get a letter, and I know it talked about the rebate (which I wasn't eligible for on my upcoming cruise because my last cruise was free), but don't remember is indicating that the charge for getting cash from the sea pass card was waived (I heard on another thread that it had gone up to 5%). I believe I earned a bit over 2,000 points on my last 3 day cruise.

I just wanted to make sure I was making the right choice.

Thanks.

If the casino host is particularly nice, he/she will also allow your partner/spouse to get cash on their seapass without paying the surcharge. Sometimes I get complimentary chocolate-covered strawberries delivered to the room and/or a bottle of wine or champagne. It's always a good idea to be very chummy with the host as the perks come from him/her. I haven't paid for a cruise in a few years which tells you how much time I spend in the casino which is my favourite evening entertainment.

I am surprised that you were not given future cruise credit because your last cruise was free. It is all about you casino play....not what you paid for your cruise.

Anyway..We do not pay the surcharge to get cash from the casino.

We get enough free drinks while we play. I always get one right before I leave at night & take it back to my room.

About half way through the cruise, a slot host will usually offer to give us a specialty restaurant meal. Sometimes also a bottle of wine at dinner.

We will be going on the Allure in October. Anyone who has cruised on the Oasis or Allure knows the importance of booking shows in advance.

There will be a casino sticker on my seapass card which allows us to go right in even if we do not have reservations.

My husband & I are both members so we each get an offer for our next cruise. It is interchangable with Celebrity.

The sticker is something put onto the SeaPass card by the casino host if you are a Club Royale member. It's to let the staff know that you're a member so they won't charge you the surcharge as well as other perks you might be able to get with it; the perks vary from ship to ship.

Thanks all for the replies and good info. I did review my letter that I was given when I was invited to be a member of Club Royale, and it does talk about discounts towards your next cruise, free drinks and personal check cashing, but that's it. No mention on not having to pay the sea pass for cash fee.

As far as no rebate for my next cruise - my letter did say "that in order to have your rebate waiting for you onboard - to call". Well I called and asked about it, and that's what I was told - no rebate for my next cruise as my first one was free through M Life.

When I got on board, there was a letter waiting in my cabin, asking me to meet my host in the casino after the muster drill. This is where she put our stickers on our cards, gave us our free drink stickers, and set up our specialty dinner.
