Question about the Punchliner Brunch

They definitely did the comedy during brunch when I was on the Breeze last month. The comedian made fun of the religion that most of my family belongs to.

The brunch is only offered on sea days. I liked it. My husband hates typical breakfasts foods so it is nice for him to be able to eat real food that early.

It is served in the MDR and you order from a menu. Try the huevos rancheras... to die for. Also, the hand-made bloody marys are incredible as well.

I think they discontinued the 3 minute comic routine... which is a good thing.

I agree 100% with all of what you said. and the comic routine...was horrible! Don't even know why that was introduced. and yes, the bloody mary...delicous! steak & eggs for breakfast, who needs dinnertime!

I love Eggs Benedict but I hate when they brown the hollandaise sauce. I always ask for the sauce on the side and I spoon it on when it arrives at my table.

I agree -- the Eggs Benedict in the picture look awful to me... the grits don't look to good either.

Hey, there's cheese. So what could be bad?;)

The trouble with food porn is the photos never come out as good as the pros. That's because the food is always made to look right for the camera and not necessarily indicative what you actually get. Food porn usually doesn't look as appetizing as it probably is. Some of those prime rib photos with the sauce on it looks like, well, I won't say it, but anyone who's witnessed a delivery will get an idea.

We got back from our Glory cruise on Monday. They still did the lame comedy but the brunch itself was wonderful. On our last sea day we went early for the breakfast items and then just before it closed for lunch so we could use our free drink coupons. They offer the full service bar as well as the specialty Bloody Mary's. I really enjoyed the pasta with mushrooms.

That's my plan. Do a 9:00 am breakfast so I can get poached eggs and smoked salmon and then return at 1:30 pm for lunch. I really miss the dining room lunches, 1 menu in particular which had delicious baby back ribs and German chocolate cake.

I thought the comedian thing was rather dull. the same jokes two days in a row on ours. I loved the punchliner food tho. One Grandson got the mac and cheese with some type of steak on it each day--he said prime rib but I am not sure and still raves about it. Another GS got the Caesar salad each day and loved it. Me I really enjoyed their pancakes with fruit. I was all for being upset as they took the breakfast away but I was more than pleased when I experienced it. It is only on sea days tho but we were on an eight day with only 3 ports so we experienced it a lot. Next up 15 days-can't wait.

Just off the Freedom. No comedy at brunch.

Carnival says the punchliner brunch is an overwhelming success but a lot of folks (including me) would prefer the traditional breakfast and lunch. Last time I went the funny guy stunk up the place and rather than being entertaining he was annoying. Personally I didn't care for the menu but maybe that's just me and I'm spoiled by the great buffets on lido.

Darned auto correct! "Carne" y Huevos...not "Carnegie!

I hear ya but your auto-correct got me thinking about the Carnegie Deli in NYC which made me think of the great corned beef and pastrami sandwiches at the ship's deli ! Now after brunch I'll head up to the deli for an afternoon snack.

See? It worked out for the best :)
