West Coast Gal Posted September 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2013 This Dec will be a first time on NCL, we will be on the Pearl, and I am assuming they have drink of the day . . . wondering if there are any specials and especially what are some of people's favorites drinks! hladygirl Posted September 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2013 I like the rebellious fish, dark and stormy and Martina's. sometimes they have two for one Martina's in a certain bar at certain times. You have to ask. I always ask at the pool if there are any specials. Ask for drink of the day in a regular cup otherwise they bring it in a souvenir cup that you pay extra for. We always like the Rebellious Fish, a concoction of passion fruit liqueur, orange vodka, orange liqueur, orange juice and sparkling wine — and yes, it really is served in a fishbowl. You do not have to order it in the fishbowl, but they do make fun souvenirs. Mine seemed to have disappeared and expect they were well used at college. Hope my attachment made it! MCAT48 Posted September 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2013 I like the rebellious fish drink too and the one they put in the pineapple!!
SailBabySail Posted September 8, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2013 i am a piña colada girl but like rebellious fish too. But last cruise in April the fishbowl was plastic although I have two real glasses from a previous cruise. Another yummy drink is the Miami Vice...oh, soooo good :) Enjoy your DOD whatever you choose.

You have to ask. I always ask at the pool if there are any specials. Drink specials are advertised in Freestyle daily - no 2-for-1 martinis anymore in any bar on our three cruises this year, people have been saying here that the "good" specials went pretty much away since the launch of UBP fleetwide. Coastalbreezes Posted September 8, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 8, 2013 Count me as a Rebellious Fish lover! I also like the Bushwackers -- a concoction of Kahlua, Rum, and other booze that is delicious! Tracy
West Coast Gal Posted September 9, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted September 9, 2013 I looked at the UBP - just won't drink enough to make it worthwhile, especially with 4 stops on a 7 day cruise.

Demonyte Posted September 9, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 9, 2013 Do they serve all of these fun drinks in the casino bar? You should be able to get the Drink-of-the-Day's from pretty much any bar (on ships that have Bar City, in there I'd go to the martini bar in the middle for these - don't think that the bartender at champagne/wine bar can help too much ;)). West Coast Gal Posted September 15, 2013 Author #12 Share Posted September 15, 2013 Sounding like 3 good drinks that I would love: Rebellious Fish Bushwacker BBC What is in the Miami Vice? And are there any others?
confused123 Posted September 15, 2013 #13 Share Posted September 15, 2013 Are drinks of the day specific to the ship, the itinerary (eg, different for Caribbean versus Mediterranean)? If so, then any information about what the Med drinks might be like?

Holidaycraze Posted September 16, 2013 #17 Share Posted September 16, 2013 I know frrestyle dining great reason for ncl -my first ncl cruise coming up but i already see some minuses - i enjoy happy hour- two.for one - any drink in the crowsnest on holland america for one hour before dinner - im not big drinker but its nice to have special coctail at decent price - hubby has the other - or sometime we will each get two each:p.....plus you bring all the wine you like on board at any ports etc. Only charged corkage if brought to restrauant and even then we never charged. Big pluses when on for long trip and like certain wine experiences...still plan to give NCL a fair go.

beachmonkey Posted September 17, 2013 #19 Share Posted September 17, 2013 The Dark and Stormy is always a nice change too. Not sure if this is only a drink of the day on sailings to Bermuda. I don't recall it from other cruises.

Could be I have missed it, haven't cruised with NCL since 2010 (I was vulnerable and tried Carnival) but I don't remember any two for one specials. Cruising with NCL in April and would enjoy two for one. Does NCL offer this special?

I seem to remember 2 for 1 margaritas on the GEM daily at around 4.30pm at the bar located between Moderno and Blue Lagoon. I am positive that they had this each day.
