Loning for a New Formal

I've got one new formal (from last year) that is ankle length. The other one (cocktail length) I've been wearing since Cruise 1. Time for a new one, I think.

 

I was poking around HSN (yeah, usually a QVC shopper, but they don't have a huge formal selection) and found a Maggie Sweet Charmeuse Faux Wrap dress in a couple of pretty colors (don't really want black). It comes in petite and is less than $35.

 

Is this too good to be true? Any one familiar with this line? There were three customer reviews - 2 good, 1 not.

I think it would look very nice on a petite woman. I've never bought from QVC or HSN, so I would make sure they have a return policy for sale items. What color were you thinking of?

lszu, do you have a Dillards near you? EVERYTHING is on sale:D Including

their "Dressy" and "Special Occasion" dresses.

I wasn't going to get 2 new dresses for this cruise but I couldn't help it;)

I got the black one a couple of weeks ago. And I wanted some COLOR too.

I found a fantastic baby blue long dress at Dillards today. I went after work

and I am very happy. They have MANY, MANY racks of sales. Anywhere from

33%, 50% and 75% off.

This was on the 50% off. Originally 100.00 and I got it for 50.00:) It is a textured bottom, flows nicely. (has a wonderful hand to the material) It is a tank style with a fantastic jacket full of silver and blue sparkles. This dress will be used again on another cruise, I can promise you that! I absolutely LOVE IT! I am so glad I got a COLOR! And I love blue!

 

I don't know about the Maggie Sweet Line at HSN...other than seeing

it it when I channel surf.

 

But if you have a Dillards near you......check them out!

HappyKS - Yes, that's it! Wasn't sure of my size so I ordered the red in small and the blue in a medium. I'd be happy with either color, so it'll come down to what fits better. Yeah, I checked about returning. They seem to be as easygoing as QVC on that.

 

Lois - Nope, no Dillard's here. I did see a couple of pretty ones at Chadwicks.com, too, but decided to try this one. If I don't like it I can always send it back. It's worth a shot for $33! Your find sounds great. I've been moving away from black, too. Wonder if there's a dillards.com...off to check.

 

All - Adding my prayers to Lois' for London. What a shame. Not sure what's gone wrong with the world.

Do you have a JC Penney's near you? I'm not sure if they're just a midwestern store or not. If you do, they usually have a pretty good selection of Prom and Formal dresses. I'm going to check there for a silver shawl for my dress.

 

I just saw about the London bombings this morning. How scary!
